If the freeze was in effect the Rangers would not have been able to waive Sangs/Heik...

What's the difference anyway. There aren't going to be trades this late in the day

Ugh Mueller. He had a good rookie season, and has struggled ever since. I wouldn't trade any valuable assets for him...

Mueller for Higgins or Voros, or both of 'em... Done Deal. lol

It's just so players can't be traded this close to Christmas and have to worry about all that crap involved with switching teams at this time of the year.

At least that's what I've always thought it was about. Just a temporary "no trade" time, more or less

Didn't Espo trade Don Maloney on Christmas Eve? I thought that was what caused the freeze to go into effect.

Also players on an NHL roster can't be waived or sent to the AHL during the freeze.

Phoenix can't afford to add significant amounts of salary due to their financial situation (remember they are currently owned by the NHL), without getting something really useful back (oh well).

yea its a freeze

At this pt I would do Meuller for Girardi and call it a day. Just waive Voros after and play more kids on D.

I'd pass on that trade, Girardi is way more valuable and because he doesn't have the flashiness as some of the other guys he is our second best defensive defenseman right now... can we really afford to trade him? and for Muller? Hey if this was the summer and it was Girardi, Rozy, and Dubi for Heatly than maybe it is a different story, but just because Rozy has played better the last few games, doesn't mean im ready to have a defense of
Staal-Roszival
Redden-MDZ
Heikken-Sanguinetti

my offer is Higgins and Potter, unless they want a mid level pick instead of potter since they seemed pretty stacked with defensemen prospects

Phoenix will only trade Mueller for a forward IMO.

He is underachieving...really doesn't seem to fit in Tippett's structured defensive system (not that ANYONE is thriving offensively in the desert).

Still, they cannot just dump him. He showed too much promise in his rookie year.

Never! The coyotes will keep him if that's what is tabled. Maloney already turned down the first offer and this is worse.

Higgins+ in a deal might work. Even though he is not scoring he is playing well. I don't knbow what the plus is but the Coyotes are a win now team and Higgins can contribute more today to this team than Mueller. Not sure what + would be but two Maloney faves that could figure here are Byers and Baranka.

Yeah, ugh, he had a good rookie season all those two years ago when he was 19 years old.

We don't need that old fart Mueller at 21 years old, he's obviously reached his peak.
