Oil fans shall live in the dark... FOREVER!

Of course they didn't say it... but is it just me, or are the Oilers the one team they mention the least in ice chips? I find it incredibly annoying that they go out of their way to give us the scoop on teams we most likely don't cheer for.

Unless an Oiler is coming back from injury they only mention them in ice chips 1/5 games at the most.

Can anyway tell me why?

TSN = Toronto Sports Network. Simple as that.

Yep and to add, the eastern part of the country has far more people than the western part so they are catering to more people over there talking about Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa more. Since Vancouver and Calgary have done a lot better than the Oilers the last few years it makes sense that they give those two more limelight than the Oil. When Calgary was garbage for a number of years they got very little attention from TSN as well. Just how it works.

Since Winnipeg is gone you are the least desirable team for air time in Canada

Get used to it or hope the Jets come back

Any coverage they gave us would be pretty negative anyway, I'm not sure it's something I need to see

There's a real hate on for the Oilers for sure. But that's how it goes.

TSN used to be far worse than they are today.

Grab Tencer's and Gregor's Twitter feeds if you want the fastest Oilers updates.

I always notice this too. Ugly step sister syndrome for sure. All that being said, TSN is still head and shoulders better than Sportsnet in every single category imaginable.

Also, a little off topic, but do you guys notice during hilight packs, that there whoever is being talked about in the hilights is always either scoring on the Oilers, hitting an Oiler or stopping an Oiler shot? I've noticed this for years and it always annoyed me. Maybe I'm blowing it out of proportion though.

Maybe the Oilers don't release the news as much as the other teams?

Just trying to find a positive.

Actually, it's probably true. They keep us fans in the dark about their own injuries, ie. Hemsky and Khabibulin.

I could care less about Oiler coverage on TSN. There are much better and faster places to get it.

I have noticed that as well Mowzie. I always pray when the Oilers are on TSN that Chris Cuthbert is the guy calling the game, at least you get a balanced play by play.

I really agree, and have noticed it an annoying amount of times recently. Starting to hate TSN as much as Sportsnet, what jokes, can we get unbiased coverage, TSN mainly being biased I just dislike Sportsnets effort.

Maple leafs got blown out--but instead of harping on that they spent more time talking about the rangers lose

I've noticed that too. I figure it's either a hate on for the Oilers from TSN or the guy putting together the highlight pack is a Flames fan.

Start winning more and the media will follow. The organization has been mediocre for too long.

Ooooh! Ooooh! I know this answer! "What is "because Ron Wilson didn't go off on an obscenity filled and rage fueled rant like Torterella?"

Threads like this one are so much the reason why I can't stand to read this site anymore. "poor us, TSN doesn't like us" Cry me a river, man up! We are right there with Ottawa as the least relivant team in Canada right now, get used to it already! We've been terrible the last 3 years, Vancouver and Calgary both have better teams then us, Toronto and Montreal both have much more popular teams throughout the country. The Leafs are the first team talked about because the MAJORITY of the audience is interested in the Leafs then any of the other Canadian teams, weather it be on television or on the net. Who cares??? So TSN is catering to there audience, go somewhere else! Come on people. I don't mean to trash those of you that think this but nobody is out to "get" the Oilers and there is no conspiracy theory here. We aren't a very interesting team right now, hopefully we will be soon and when we are we will get more love from the national media.

I've "noticed" this as well, but I think it has more to do with me only noticing when the Oilers are one there, but never paying attention to other teams that show up. There's probably other teams that show up more than the Oilers.
