The amazing thing to me is that the spread from 1st to 8th in the conference is only 6 points, WITH GAMES IN HAND!

This is gonna be one hell of a battle.

He was brutal. Does not belong in an NHL uniform.

Brown looked like an idiot with an attempt to throw an elbow at Giordano (and failing miserably).

You can't be happy with a loss but tonight's game still gave me some satisfaction. Watch out NHL when Kings will have at least so so completed line up. The future is bright.

Yeah...but alot of those "gih" are against each other, we are in pretty good shape unless there are tons of 3 point games between the teams behind us. Even at the end of this break the Kings should be 5th

Kings are in pretty good shape right now, we have that 5 game trip at the end of January, but before and after that we pretty much live at home.

If the Kings can keep winning at home, I think we have a real shot at the division.

Just finished watching the game on the DVR, god damn the guys battled hard. Everyone was out there playing through a really hard-hitting Calgary team tonight and giving it their all. Sucks that we couldn't get a point out of it.

Time to get some rest, heal up, and get ready to come back out strong after Christmas.

Doughty is ummm pretty darn good, yes. Just out of curiousity can we say that Doughty is officially better than Phaneuf?

Now. Doughty is better then Phaneuf!

And how about Doughty trying to take the game over? And he's a 20 year old defense man. Amazing.

I am only dissapointed with Kopitar.

Otherwise, this is the quintessential "can't win them all game" since it is also a "can't dress them all game."

Although, I've seen Brown embarrass himself numerous times, but this was the first time I can ever remember seeing someone else embarass Brown.

Moller is going to be an incredible hockey player, and I am very happy to see Doughty rebound after a couple of iffy and crappy games, just like a star player... as opposed to a kopistar player.

I get that Smyth gives Kopi confidence and opens up tons of space for him, but I can't for the life of me understand why Smyth has anything to do with Kopitar being strong on the puck. For ***** sake boy, lean into that thing!

Quick is abso-friggin-lutely insanely good. What a game.

I didn't think we gave Kipper much of a reason to play well. He made a couple of key saves, but Quick was the better goalie.

I hope Kopi will use this break to reflect on his different game styles and see, which is more successful. He went from 'going to the net', to 'going behind the net', and now to 'not going to the net at all'.

I don't want to look at the actual stats, because they will be so disheartening.

He sure is playing better. Boy is Dion going to be pissed when he loses his spot to Doughty on team Canada.

Moller: I've always been one of the first to say he is too small, too weak on the puck. He may have changed my mind tonight, because the kid obviously has heart. And heart makes up for a LOT of things. Right when the commentators were saying "he gets crushed, then goes right back in where he'll probably get crushed again"....well, he got crushed again. Then he fed Elkins for the goal.

Nice job, Oscar.

Kings got a win out of the road trip. That's all that matters. I said I'd be pleased if they only got one.

I have to agree with everything you just said. I still have my doubts but the kid has potential.

I thought Elkins played a tremendous game. He really deserved that goal. I hope we see him for a few more games this season because he looked pretty good on both ends of the ice.

Doughty trying to take over the game was really amazing to watch. The kid really can do it all. Very impressed with him tonight. Kings deserved at least a point tonight but Kipper shut the door. Rest up boys.

Agreed. He took hits but went right back and knew he was going to get hit and thats how they got the goal!

Doughty was ridiculous.

Calgary stopped hitting and all of a sudden LA was on top of them. Still, this looked like what I expect from LA in the playoffs: playing hard but not understanding how intense it gets out there. They were ransacked for the first 45 minutes, most notably the captain having HUGE runs taken at him.

Ivanans was on the ice for both the huge Brown and Moller hits. Didn't make anyone answer for ****. Get him out of here and bring in Westgarth.

Also, Elkins can stay if he plays like that every game and that was my feeling before he scored. Really used his size well and didn't look lost in his own zone like last game.

Game boiled down to a lost faceoff and a goal being scored with .7 left in the period. I'd like to see Quick spring up immediately with the puck in his glove and just throw it into the corner there with 2.7 seconds left to end the period. Not pinning that on him but I always like that move when it's made because I'd rather not chance the faceoff.

Way impressed with how they battled hard out there and really stuck it to them at the end.

Karma is funny. Dustin Brown, your pathetic diving has angered the hockey gods so, tonight, they took away your ability to skate with your head up, hit anyone and transfered your amazing diving powers to The Dion.
