i just warn you not to read that if you have high blood pressure or
sharp items near you.

Quick is replaced by Jimmy Howard from Detroit Red Wings.
Babcock who will coach the canadien team said
Quick and Anderson are not consistent enough........

We can survive a lot of injuries, but if Quick went down in the Olympics we'd be totally boned.

That would be great.

Jimmy Howard isn't getting anywhere near Vancouver in late February.

Uh, last I checked Quick has NOT been very consistent this year. Remember November? It was only a month ago.

Nevertheless, picking Howard over Quick would be ultra fail.

I don't see a guy with 25 career starts as of right now making the team. There are better or equal choices with much more experience out there. His numbers are much better than Quick's this season, though.

Ummm I don't know about you guys but that's actually good for us. Whether Quick makes the team or not I'm hoping he would rest up for the playoff run. I'm actually hoping none of our players makes any team even though they may deserve it. Stanley Cup playoffs is a lot more important to me then the Olympics. Although I'll still be watching. Personally I would rather see the guys rest, but that just me.

Barring an injury to Miller, Quick will not be playing at the Olympics.

I'm the opposite, I hope as many Kings as possible make their respective national teams.

Exactly. Quick going would be great for his confidence and he'd still get the rest he needs, but still be practicing (against better players) to stay sharp over the break.

It surprises me how many seem to not want him to make the team.

And as most others have said, Howard has no shot. If it's not Quick, it's Anderson.

I only pray to god we don't end up with a huge amount of injuries from this stupid exhibition games. Remember the last time when both Palffy and Frolov came back injured?

If I had my say none of the Kings would be going.

That's true, personally I don't even think he's gonna make it anyways. But Jimmy Howard? Epic Fail!

Tim Thomas is not having a good season, so I would be surprised if he's there. I'm guessing it will be Miller, Anderson, and Quick. If they're going off previous accomplishments, then I wouldn't be surprised to see Thomas in for Anderson, but I still think Quick will be the number three.

I think Thomas will still be here. He's had a rough start so to speak, but he's still got respectable numbers and he's on record as saying he'd be fine with any role on the team. Not to mention, if Miller falters, Thomas has that rare ability to completely still games, much like Mike Richter did previously for the US.

Thomas' numbers aren't bad, but he just has not looked very good this year. He's had a tendency to let in terrible goals at really bad times.

I haven't checked the stats or anything but who's actually doing better anyways between Anderson and Quick? We all know Quick has been playing a lot better and Anderson has come back to earth a bit, but now that I to think about it, Quick might even make it. Of course, assuming Thomas is still not having a good season.

I agree, which wasn't the case the past few years, but I still think he's a lock because his ability to absolutely take over games. In short tournaments, that's a key ability, much like Antero Nittymaki did for Finland in 2006.

Especially with there being no doubt about Miller being the clear cut #1 going into the tournament, you might as well have a guy with that ability on the bench just in case. And then bring along a young guy like Quick for experience and preparation for the future.
