Kings @ Flames 12/17 THOUGHTS & TIDBITS

Still...

what a gutty performance by a team that is depleted and must be just dog tired.

Considering we had half an AHL line up....not bad. Congrats Elkins for his 1st NHL goal.

man that was close at the end haha. Huge effort by the kings tonight, very very pleased with how they played. They showed they are a legit team tonight with all the injuries

Good effort from a seriously depleted line up out there tonight. The Flames have a hell of a team and the boys gave them all they could handle tonight.

Much, much needed break.

atleast we weren't spanked by the flames. A point would have been nice from this game. Enjoy the break and lets get Smyth and Johnson back after Christmas.

Very good game. It just sucks no Kings hockey for 8 DAYS! I just hope the team can get their groove back when they do return.

Honestly completely surprised how well we played. But boy does our first line need to find the net. ****in Kipper was incredible.

Bummed that we didn't get a point. Hard fought game, and hey...

10 games over .500 is a hell of a Christmas present. Thanks to a Kings team for giving us the best start to a season in a decade.

Definitely looking forward to getting a healthy lineup back for the battle the rest of the way.

I'm glad they pulled their socks up in the 3rd, Kipper really closed the door on us. Congrats to Elkins, good games by Moller, Richie, and the 1st line, even though they couldn't pot one.

Alright everybody. HEAL.

Didn't really care about a win until after that Elkins goal. The Phaneuf dove and the refs bit.

After that I REALLY wanted them to win and shove Calgary's piss-poor 3rd period effort down their throats.

Kings taught Calgary a lesson in how to play 60 minutes and NEVER give up.

I will second that. Your team deserves a lot of credit. It was a great game that could have gone either way.

Doughty is amazing.

It was a real solid effort, no doubt about it. Proud of the boys.

But carrying over from the GDT, the Kings really need to do something about the PP. I think Kopitar needs to move down alot closer to the goal line and set-up shop there. This 3 guys high, one-timer set-up just isn't working, like Pierre McGuire said during the Ottawa game, everyone knows what the Kings are trying to do.

But it will be nice to get this break and get everyone (except Simmonds) back on the 26th.

But hey...great run for the Kings so far, I don't think anyone thought we'd have 47 points at Christmas break.

Liked the effort in the 3rd. Kopitar and Williams looked exhausted out there, hardly anything left in the tank. Brown became a little tentative as the game went on, never gave up tho. Moller was crushed a bunch of times but the kid is a gamer. PP still sucks

They deserve this break coming up. Hopefully we see Smyth, Stoll, and Johnson back against the Yotes.

Can you imagine jack johnson in that game^^ or Ryan Smith? I sure hope when we reach the playoffs all our boys are healthy. Todays game felt like a playoff game.. even the refs got into it... I only saw it once, but it looked like a, "hey justin, were in charge here" type call

Good effort. We got stronger as the game went on. I wish we had brought that intensity to the beginning of the game. Calgary played us more physically than we did them. Exactly what TM didn't want. Wish we could have stole at least one point if not two tonight. Rest up boys!! GO KINGS!!
