Ok guys it was nice to see a win, but lets continue tanking again

Actually kind of excited for this one. Torts has been talking about many different things to the media, can't wait to see how the team responds.

LET'S GO !!

Well hopefully this is the start of another 5 game losing streak (or better!). Mustn't lose sight of Taylor Hall!

I will be similarly displeased if we go to the second round as if we finish last overall, with one exception: I'll be happy by June that we got a top pick.

So what if Brendl messed up? I'll go with a 4th overall pick over a 16th overall pick every time.
Since when did being a fan include being a strategist?

If you want the team to tank to get a high draft pick, why even watch the games?

I'll go with wins and let the cards fall where they may with the draft. We've proven we can draft well wherever we pick the past few years in the 1st round.

ONE and he was the 9th overall pick (Brian Leetch).

Notable top 10'ers:

Brad Park (2nd)
Veilleux (1st - the last 1st we ever had, 1965)
Vickers (10)
Murdoch (6)
Deblois (8)
Patrick (9)
Dahlen (7)
Malhotra (7)
Brendl (4)
Blackburn (10)
Montoya (6)

How many of those top 10 turned in HOF'ers or anything really special? 2. In 46 years.

I'd rather hope that the team comes together and has a magical run (Carolina, Edmonton in recent years) than pin it on a draft pick. It's more likely to work out that way and we have quite a few first round draftees in our roster right now (Gaborik (3rd overall), Boyle, Staal, Del Zotto, Redden (2nd overall), Sanguinetti, Higgins).

Sorry, only one team out of 30 can win every year and in the salary cap era it's harder than ever. A draft pick isn't going to matter as much as the organization, the coach, the system, and the goalie.
There are people here that think the only recipe for success is having a top pick in the new NHL.

The Red Wings say hi though.

please just lose some more so we can fire Sather already... this is like pulling off a band-aid extremely slow.

Well, my two main teams are in Philly this weekend (Rangers and 49ers)... would be nice to stick it to their fans!

I'm kind of neutral in this debate in that it's really incredibly painful to root against them, but I also want a young stud like Taylor Hall on this team. Anyway, I just wanted to point out that it does not make someone a horrible fan to root for whatever puts his or her team closer to winning the stanley cup. The tank fans happen to believe that a top two pick will do that much better than shooting for a possible eighth seed and losing in the first round. You may disagree with that, but that does not make them horrible fans.

Some of us have older relatives and/or are rather old ourselves and would like to see them win the cup again as quickly as possible. Keep that in mind the next time you throw a hissy fit at someone who is just looking for any way possible to move this team closer to contention.

Early morning notes:
  • I hate to lose, I always want to win.
  • I don't care if Brashear beats the snot out of Cote or anyone else, he is a useless, wasteful player. What a blunder. We could have signed better (Cheechoo?)
  • I seriously dislike afternoon games.
  • If you accidently made plans and think you might miss the game...change your plans.

Sounds like the right formula. Seems to be working pretty well across the Hudson, right? (OMG did I really say that? )
