I'm starting to question what Hartnell actually brings to this team anymore.

Hartnell played with no heart at all. Trade him somewhere for a 1st round draft pick. Put Kalinski or Powe into his spot, both are better workers and smarter players than Hartnell.

How does a first round pick make the team better today?

It doesn't have to, but it will help us get back what we lost and by having Powe or Kalinski replace him, we have a player that has much better work ethics and brains.

We still need some talent back to replace him. Homer and Lavi need to find out who the heartless players are and replace them with players who can bring some chemistry to the locker room.

I see palpable improvement in this team from 2 weeks ago. We're starting to get healthy and getting adjusted to Lavi. Sure I'm pissed that we're still not getting our W's yet, but I see reason to believe they'll start coming. We outshot the Rags like 16-5 in the third. Henrik definitely stole this one.

BTW, I haven't read all this GDT, but did anyone else notice that Pronger - Coburn, Timonen - Carle were the pairings for the majority of the third period? Could have been longer but I didn't notice until the third.

Upshall could be the guy that brings some chemstry to the locker room. Hartnel for Upshall & a bag of pucks sounds fair.

I'd rather have the 2nd back, then the bag of pucks. It's not like this team knows what to with the ****in' puck anyways.

What a ****ing disgrace.

Good thing we canned Stevens.

That was NHL hockey? Was not worth the treacherous trip at all. Both teams looked dreadful. Lundqvist was good, but the Flyers in front of the net were awful, Carter couldn't handle a single pass all day, Hartnell looked like he was playing for the other team 90% of the time, Parent made a ton of awful decisions, and JVR made too many rookie mistakes. The Rangers looked just as terrible, they were content to dump and watch the entire 3rd period but got away with it.

The last sequence where it was a 6 on 4 and Richards threw the puck back into the shin pads of the Rangers guy pretty much summed the game up. Lack of desire much?

I like Laviolette and all (especially his apparent intensity), but this has been disgraceful. We should've won today, and we SHOULD win the next 5. If we don't win at least 3-4 of these it'll be an absolute failure. Sometimes I ****ing hate being a Flyers fan.

If this team needs Scottie Upshall to turn it around -- it's not getting turned around.

This is no longer a system problem, but an effort and heart problem.

Yes, its going to take time to play the system as if its habit. Hell, it may take all season to actually play it the way Lavi wants it played (or longer). And that would be fine and understandable, by myself and most others. But playing with no heart and lackluster effort, regardless of system, is simply unacceptable.

You don't think so? The team seems to be playing more disciplined as far as penalties go the last couple games, we're forechecking better, outshooting opponents and seem to be limiting the number of shots on goal against. I'm not saying we look like world beaters, but I see improvement.

Ah, I missed that. Dunno if it was just a particularly good game from Pronger or if the switch had anything to do with it, but I thought Prongs looked like the guy we traded for today.
