wish I had some extra cash, I've wanted to drive into Philly for a Rangers game the past few years now and it never seems to workout

I hadn't realized that the Flyers had a nearly identical record to us this season. Wow.

Yup it's suprising... They had a brutal late November, which has continued into December.

Just lose. One win over the Isles doesn't make us a team capable of winning a single playoff round. I'd rather have a high pick and also to trade our vets at the deadline for picks.

No real Rangers fan gives up after 34 games and wants to lose to the Flyers for the sake of a draft pick (like Brendl? Montoya? LOL). C'mon.

See, you care about making the playoffs and I care about winning the Cup. I'd rather be bad and then be good then be permanently mediocre.

There's 0 chance we win two rounds this year. In fact, there's barely any chance we'll win one round. That doesn't make me happy.

I will be similarly displeased if we go to the second round as if we finish last overall, with one exception: I'll be happy by June that we got a top pick.

So what if Brendl messed up? I'll go with a 4th overall pick over a 16th overall pick every time.

These are the games where Mr Brashear needs to seriously earn his keep. You know Carcillo is going to be running around. Same for Riley is he even plays. But...I love this matchup. Usually makes for some really entertaining games.

I want them to win every game, but the time I am opposed to winning is in deadline deals. If we deal for an extra player for just a playoff push I cannot agree with that. We have no shot at the cup, and there is no point in trading for a player unless it would be for long term (kovalchuk).

Honestly if we are playing this bad still come the deadline we have to trade Prospal and Roszival. Prospal could get some very nice return due to his caphit, experience and skill, and Rozy would be a salary dump but we could potentially get a good return if we find a team with a system that fits Rozy's play.

If Cote does play, I want to see Brash do something similar to this;

"Goodnight"

Over the past 46 (since the draft began) years, how many top 10 draft picks of the Rangers have led to Cups?

ONE and he was the 9th overall pick (Brian Leetch).

Notable top 10'ers:

Brad Park (2nd)
Veilleux (1st - the last 1st we ever had, 1965)
Vickers (10)
Murdoch (6)
Deblois (8)
Patrick (9)
Dahlen (7)
Malhotra (7)
Brendl (4)
Blackburn (10)
Montoya (6)

How many of those top 10 turned in HOF'ers or anything really special? 2. In 46 years.

I'd rather hope that the team comes together and has a magical run (Carolina, Edmonton in recent years) than pin it on a draft pick. It's more likely to work out that way and we have quite a few first round draftees in our roster right now (Gaborik (3rd overall), Boyle, Staal, Del Zotto, Redden (2nd overall), Sanguinetti, Higgins).

Sorry, only one team out of 30 can win every year and in the salary cap era it's harder than ever. A draft pick isn't going to matter as much as the organization, the coach, the system, and the goalie.
