FYI This game WILL NOT be on Center Ice thanks to the idiocy that is the Ducks front office.

What about Gamecenter? Why is that?

Either way lets finish this road trip off on a high note.

Ill be there behind our bench for this one....come on Yotes actually a chance to see us move up in the standings (finally) past Nashville. Then..only 1 point behind our DIVISION LEADERS!

And we still have 2 games in hand behind LA. This is getting fun to follow (the upward trend).

I predict a Shane down wrister in the 2nd as well. Need him to get it going.

Nope no TV at all. You'd have to ask the ducks why that is.

Yup. Ducks don't want to get embarassed on their home TV.

My DirecTV receiver shows it on channel 785 today (it was not listed yesterday night). Is it lying?

If the NHL wasn't completely and totally retarded, this is what the western conference standings would look like...

1. Chicago 33GP 22W 11L .667W%
2. Phoenix 35GP 21W 14L .600W%
3. Nashville 35GP 21W 14L .600W% (no season series yet. went with goal differential. PHX+8, NAS +/-0)
4. Los Angeles 37GP 22W 15L .595W%
5. Calgary 34GP 20W 14L .588W%
6. San Jose 35GP 20W 15L .571W%
7. Vancouver 35GP 20W 15L .571W% (0-1 against SJ)
8. Detroit 34GP 18W 16L .529W%
-------------------------------------
9. Colorado 36GP 19W 17L .528W%
10.Minnesota 34GP 17W 17L .500W%
11.Edmonton 34GP 15W 19L .441W%
12.St. Louis 33GP 14W 19L .424W%
13.Dallas 34GP 14W 20L .412W%
14.Columbus 35GP 14W 21L .400W%
15.Anaheim 34GP 13W 21L .382W%

DEATH TO THE POINTS SYSTEM!!!

STANDINGS SHOULD BE BASED ON WIN PERCENTAGE!!!

Just like every other sport. You know, the ones that are actually popular. The ones people can actually figure out. The ones where you don't have to explain to people why a team with twenty wins and fifteen losses is better than a couple of teams with twenty one wins and fourteen losses.

NHL

The points system has been obsolete since the tie was eliminated. We're just dealing with administrative inertia now, which is a formidable force in itself.

NHL
Why not just wins? At the end of the season, yes, it would be equal to win %, but a team that's 10-5 should be ahead of a team that's 9-5 until the 2nd team gets another win.

I would love it if they made the loser point the 1st tiebreaker. If 2 teams are tied at the end of the season, the team that kept more games close is ranked higher.

As long as shootouts stand, the loser point will stay as well. There's no way in hell the NHL will let the SO decide 2 whole points. No way.

The 3-point system has a better chance. I'd be curious what the difference in the standings would be. Maybe it would make no difference at all.

The games have to end some time. Three on three is just as much a gimmick as the shoot out. It's just a means to an end. It's just the regular season. Everyone hates ties.

Everyone's aiming for top shelf-glove side on Bryz lately.
