That's just stupid. If you look at their point totals in their roughly 200 games in the NHL, Cogliano is MUCH closer to A. Kostitsyn's value. Look up the stats.

Sergei wouldn't make the Oilers just like he hasn't with the Habs. To suggest that a guy who can't make one of the worst teams in the league is equal in value to a guy who could find a spot on every roster in the league is ridiculous.

Go back to your poutine.

I think I'd do this.

Not being able to catch many Oilers games (or Kings games, previously to that), I was curious what exactly is the knock on O'Sullivan? What did Kings fans warn you about him?

I think the biggest problem with O'Sullivan is in his head. He thinks the game too fast, when he needs to slow it down. He is afraid to get hit, and bails out on a lot of plays. He is a big-time floater and instead of throwing the puck deep and going after it, he takes a wrist shot from the blue line and goes for a line change. He shoots from EVERYWHERE (I thought this would be a good thing at first, but it really isn't). He seems to mentally weak to stick it out in a hockey market like Edmonton and I think he would be best served with a team in the SouthEast somewhere.

That's too bad. I followed his career through junior and after all that business with his dad, I was hoping he'd make it big. He looked like he was about to do just that after his 22 goal, 53 point second season with LA, but it seems he hasn't improved upon that year and instead, seems to be regressing.

That sounds reasonable, but if there was one player on this team I would keep over 30 it would be Visnovsky. Bergfors is also an under-sized player with skill, and we've got a heavy surplus of that at the moment. In short the value is reasonable, but I would decline.

The oilers get a 40 goal scorer and get rid of two potential 30 goal scorers and a potential top 3 pick.

I don't think Hemsky is untouchable.

If someone wanted a finesse player and was willing to give up a power forward with good offensive upside I'm pretty sure a deal could be done.

Great hands, not a great finisher, decent passer, decent vision... overall he has the tools but he lacks resolve, is *fairly* soft - although to be fair to him he does have his moments where he finishes checks and tries hard to lay someone on their butt.

But the biggest problem with Sully is he just doesn't think the game well. Horrible, horrible decision maker. Particularly on the powerplay. To sum it up, he is frustrating beyond belief. Early in the year, despite his weak production, fans were still pleased overall with his performance, mostly because of his solid defensive play. There was a lot of optimism and hope to start the year with O'Sullivan, but now it's all gone to ****, because he's regressed in every department. He's playing on the 2nd and 4th lines being bounced around like a cheap pair of fake *******, essentially in Pat Quinn's doghouse and seems unhappy.

The past few weeks he's been downright awful. I remember when the trade happened, several LA fans chimed in saying, "Enjoy hearing the words: Shoots just wide! or... O'Sullivan, off the crossbar!" alot, and they were basically bang on. He lives in a snakebitten world and just can't get out.

Anyway we could get Stuart instead of Hunwick?

I will respectfully disagree with Taz (one of Boston's Board's better posters). I wouldn't do his offer much less his offer with Stuart.

IMO, Boston trades the best player (Wheeler) and a high second. Maybe he sees more in Cogliano then I do, but I am not a fan and I don't he'll ever amount to much.

Grebeshkov would be nice but I wouldn't offer a roster player for him. My offer would be something like:
Boston's first in 2010 or
Toronto's first in 2011

I'd do that if it's Eberle. But would Lecavalier waive his NTC, I doubt it.

What happens if we make that trade and we end up winning the lottery and end up losing Taylor hall.

Real List of Available Players From Edmonton

Lubomir Visnovsky
Patrick O'Sullivan
Andrew Cogliano
Ethan Moreau
Steve Staios

one of:
Denis Grebeshkov
Tom Gilbert

Mike Comrie
Marc Pouliot
Robert Nilsson
Fernando Pisani
Shawn Horcoff

Basically the entire team is available, outside of Sam Gagner, Gilbert Brule, Dustin Penner, Ladi Smid, Ryan Stone, Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers and JF Jacques.

Not alot that's very appealing, I realize that. But there's still some pieces there a few teams could use.

This has to be a joke, right? I wouldn't even consider Stone, JDD, or Brule "unavailable". Hemsky is FAR more untouchable than any of those guys. I shouldn't be surprised by posts like this by this point, but it's completely rediculous.

Why would we lose Taylor Hall? He asks for 1 of Eberle, MPS, or our 1st rounder. Not all 3. I'd personally would do the trade with Eberle. However, I would decline if MPS or our 1st is in the deal.

Defensive Dman or a big body forward who can pot in some goals..
so someone like Tallinder OR Stafford OR Gaustad OR your 1st in 2010 (should be a low pick)

but if you twist our arm we'll bite the bullet and will take Vanek, Myers, Miller or Roy off ur hands

There's no way Buffalo makes that deal. Not even close. I really don't see a team who put so much focus on getting bigger this offseason and the last couple of drafts trading Gaustad and Stafford for Cogliano. Nevermind the fact that the value is way off.

That said, if there was any way to get both Gaustad and Stafford, I'd have no problem sending a package of Cogliano and Grebeshkov with picks or something on either side to even it out.
