On a personal level, this was really sad to hear. Just over seven years ago I was lucky enough to do a photo shoot with Brittany for the movie Uptown Girls. She was an amazing professional to work with, and made the shoot a memorable experience.

I didn't realize she has not had a movie release in theatres for almost 3 years--last movie she made that went to the theatres was (I am not joking) DEADGIRL-- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0783238/

it was released to a small number of theatres on december 29th 2006 and it made only 17k upon its release
