Anyone who won't take retarded penalties and can put away trash goals.

So that takes away the Bieksa Schneider trade

Hartnell, Coburn, Boucher/Backlund for Bieksa, Schneider and Raymond. I said Raymond instead of the previous thought of Kesler.

OR

Carter, Hartnell and Coburn for Kovy and Maxim.

I guess it would probably only be Hartnell for Bieksa and Schneider.

I'd still like Carter, Hartnell and Coburn for Kovy and Afinogenov.

How about Bieksa Schneider and Bernier for Hartnell and Coburn

If need be, throw in someone that is doing well in the AHL, like Matsumoto or maybe even add Asham.

Kovy-Richards-Afinogenov
Gagne-Powe/Kalinski/Some center-Briere
JVR-Giroux-Legein
Carcillo-Betts-Lappy

Scary top 3 lines.

I can say though, even though Bernier has less points, he has a **** load less penalties. Which to be honest, makes up for less amount of points.

Gagne-Richards-Bernier
Carcillo/Kalinski/Powe-Carter-Briere
JVR-Giroux-Asham
Kalinski/Powe/Carcillo-Betts-Lappy

Pronger-Carle
Timonen-Bieksa
Parent-Barts

I really don't see the Canucks having a lot of interest in Hartnell. We don't need help on the wing, Hartnell makes more than he should....and do we really want to bring in the most undisciplined player in the league (25 minors and counting) when we can't kill penalties to save a drowning child? Not to mention that ****ing atrocious hair.

I'm not really too keen on the idea of Hartnell in Vancouver, but the only way it makes sense is if Philly takes back Samuelsson.

Bieksa + Schneider + Samuelsson (~$6.25mm)

Coburn + Hartnell (~$5.5mm)

Don't like Samuelsson? Or like Bernier more? Let's put it this way, Hartnell is better than not having Demetra at all. Kind of curious, didn't you guys not like Bieksa because he's not getting the most points considering his contract?

He's also 3 years younger and makes less than half of what Hartnell earns......so it will not happen unless Gillis is drunk as ****.

Hartnell is twice the player Bernier is,Bernier is a 3 rd liner and Hartnell is a legit top 6 forward that can score 30 goals.

Bieksa is being run out of town because he's had a horrible year and the team isn't winning consistently. He needs to get back to playing mean hockey; when Bieksa plays with controlled anger...it just works.

I'd keep Bernier over Samuelsson because of age, $$ and grit.

You need a scorer, we need a more disciplined player. And another right winger that can put up points, because Asham and Lappy don't get many points at all. Bernier would probably work as a 1st or 2nd line RW for right now because he can put up better numbers than our other right wingers. I just wish the Flyers brought up Legein and scratches Asham.

Hartnell already is the player Gillis hoped Bernier would become. He was clearly targeting such a player given his offersheet to Backes before picking up Bernier.

I definitely think Gillis would have some interest, and Hartnell would look great on a 2nd line with Kesler and Raymond, would be a great replacement for Demitra.

Personally I really like the Bieksa & Schneider for Hartnell deal.

Throw in Coburn and we can get Bernier or Samuelsson. And hopefully under a new club and head coach, someone new can teach Hartnell not to take so many damn minors.

you do not want bernier on your first line, he doesn't have the hands.... he's a good third liner who can slide up to the second line if necessary.

The problem, we are lacking RW. I guess that Samuelsson could maybe be better? Is he really slow or can he get moving through the neutral zone well and into position? Maybe our Knuble replacement?

Imagine the outrage in this city when he takes dumb minor penalty after dumb minor penalty and our PK blows up even worse than it already has. 25 minors taken in 35 games when you almost never draw them is beyond ridiculous. This city used to crucify Bertuzzi for his boneheaded penalties.....I don't see that it would be any different with Hartnell.

30 goals is great, unitl you factor in the dozen or so his undisciplined play will cost us over a season.

I'd like to see him back in Nashville - if he would stop throwing his gloves at people who are on breakaways...

That is a fair point. Hartnell will drive you crazy with not just the amount of penalties he takes, but the TYPE of penalties he takes. Just brainless stuff.
