A buddy, Ohio U. grad, posted the following on his Facebook:

Quote:
In 1971, DB Cooper hijacked a domestic flight with a suitcase bomb; the men in DC have yet to solve the case. in 2010, DJ Cooper and the OU Bobcats hijacked a domestic basketball game with some bombs of their own; history repeats itself, as the men from the DC area were similarly unable to solve the case. Way to go, OU!!

This was on the Onion today... ****ing hilarious Kind of reminded me of the Jackets' last playoff game too, in a way...

"Carmello Anthony Called for Travelling....Back in Time"

HOUSTON—Nugget's forward Carmelo Anthony made no secret of his displeasure with game officials Monday night after being whistled for a rarely called traveling-through-time foul late in the fourth quarter of Denver's 125-123 loss to the Rockets.

"Everybody knows they only call time-traveling when they want to," said Anthony, who could clearly be seen taking two steps back in time to warn himself about an impending pick by Rockets forward Shane Battier. "You see it called, what? Every other game? Once a week? But everybody knows that guys are doing it all the time out there."

The NBA traveling-through-time call is a longtime bone of contention for fans and players alike, most of whom claim that, although the rule is on the books, officials are reluctant to slow down the flow of the game by calling it too often.

March Madness is a lot more fun without doing brackets. Right now I'm rooting for all of the upsets haha.

The Cornell Big Red is brightening up a horrible day for my brackets yesterday. Up 15 with about 10 minutes to go.

My deep-seated and sorely outdated belief in the A10 is proving disastrous in the DSL bracket.

It's this thing guys do to prove masculinity by randomly picking one team over another and claiming there is a science to it.

I still remember about 10 years ago, I was in broadcasting school, with a whole bunch of guys who were REALLY into college B-Ball (they wanted to be the sportscasters afterall). They talked me into joining their bracket pot, and I didn't know one team from another. So I wrote a quick program that averaged out the points scored by a team throughout the entire season, vs the points given up, then picked the winner based on that with a random "upset variable" thrown in.

I missed 1 game on the entire bracket. They were so pissed when they gave me the winnings even before the final 4 because nobody else could beat me.

I still wish there was a College Football tourney though...

I was at Ohio/Georgetown game...Tenn fans were behind us in the 2nd half, but afterwards were expressing concern. Georgetown alumni association didn't schedule any activities for their fans for this game, they put their efforts into a 500 seat banquet that was scheduled for tonite (Friday). I think it was a low turnout.

Also, the Georgetown coaches attended Tennessee's practice on Wednesday, but didn't go to Ohio's. Tennessee will be more prepared, but they didn't look unbeatable vs San Diego St. The Ohio players like the arena layout. They feel it's a "shooters" layout because it's a smaller arena (smaller than the Convocation Center) and little distraction behind the baskets, making them easier to see.

Ohio crowd/band was best of the late session, I expect a great showing tomorrow too.

I hope for a OSU/OU matchup...they haven't played us in basketball since we beat them in 1994.

My bracket has UK winning it all as well. As for your Sabre game, you will have a blast regardless of where you sit. I hope it's a win for you because when I go (twice this year) they always seem to lose...

The Buffalo reporters are hard nosed and negative guys most of the time and have all but said the Sabres won't come close to winning the cup (probably right). But what they fail to say: a team with one of the best goalies in the world can win any time any day.

Have fun and be prepared for a bunch of beer drinking and crazyness...

Yes, this is why I do it. And no women are allowed. Don't let anyone fool you into believing it could be about throwing a couple bucks in for fun and something extra to shoot the **** about around the office. This is totally for the knuckle-draggers.

Just like those dumbasses who play fantasy sports.

At least the Bobcats had a decent run. Just beating Georgetown was great for me, although it would have been awesome to win today too. This was definitely one of the better post-seasons for OU in recent memory.

They wouldn't match up with Kentucky until the finals. If they can beat Kentucky they'll be national champs.

OSU won't get to the finals. I think it's Kansas State vs Kentucky now. But it won't matter, it's UK all the way.

Don't be too overconfident in teams whose best players are freshmen. It's much harder to win with a freshmen led team. Just ask OSU's 2006 squad.

All they did was go to the finals and lose to a dynasty. No team comparable to that Florida team this year.
