Well, considering he has yet to play for Hamilton..I doubt we'll see him in a Montreal uniform this week.

I never expected him to play against Minny. It matters very little if he performs against his old team or not. I couldn't understand why some ''experts'' were saying he absolutely needs to play because Lats will be there...Who cares..??..
He needs to get healthy, in good condition, and then he'll be able to make our roster.

Minny's medical staff either lied or is highly incompetent, or the Habs knew about this all along.

Either way, there's no reason to rush him in. We haven't passed the halfway point of the season and still in PO position.
Even if we need drastic help on 2nd line, it's better to take our time especially with a disappointing player we want to completely turnaround.

You can't exactly get your team doctors to go down to Minnesota to test a player of another team. Maybe you can, but it doesn't sound likely.

Although I do know that they can pend a contract on a physical.

Anyways, the Minnesota docs are either liars, or plain stupid. Your pick.

I think they knew about it all along

In the week before the trade he "tried to give it a go in warmups, but it looked like he couldn’t hold his stick." (http://www.startribune.com/blogs/701...L7PQLanchO7DiU). He didn't practice at all starting from 6 days before the trade on. His first and only practice was 2 days before the trade.

I still don't understand how you could list a guy as "probable" when he could barely even hold his ****ing stick.

They must have some special doctors associated with that team..

I'm about 265 and 6'3. I could score a goal if i just parked my damn self in front of a goalie and were playing with havlat and koivu.

geez.

Are you also going to say that Pouliot is on pace for 82 goals if he scores in his first game with us

In a meantime ...

Latendresse was heavily involved in 2-3 games that the wild stole in the past 3 weeks... I am looking forward to see pouliot play ...

I am still really confident this trade will be great for us in the long run, but those of us who expected pouliot to ''outplay'' latendresse rather quickly may have been wrong. Not saying poutine has set the bar too high, but still pouliot might not catch up on him this season ...

I am disapointed ... I was expecting a final waive of latendresse bashing before turning the page ... I guess we'll have to wait.

I heard JC Lajoie say this earlier today. He said over the span of 82GP it's 24G. That's great and all, but doesn't mean squat.

There's 49Games left, not 82. So, that's the pace of 15G. Plus his 2 in Mtl, that's 17G over 82GP, not 24.

Also, 10Games is a small sample. Last year after 10Games he was set to have 82Pts.
Sergei after 2games this year, same thing.

3G in 10GP is nothing to be crazy about. It's decent.
Before yesterday's game, it was the pace of 18G in 82GP. In one game it jumped by 6G.
The sample size is simply too small. Let's wait.

I guess Minny's coach think Lats DESERVES to play on a top line... And he is playing 17 minutes and more per game... EVEN IF he did not had apoint in the last six games...

Doesn't Andrei have 11 pts in 10 games?

The stat is meaningless, the total at the end of season is all that counts.

It's funny how with Latendresse we project his stats over the season when he's hot, just to make him look better..
Same thing with Gomez, we project when he's doing bad to say how he's overpaid..
Projections are useless! They change every game anyway so I don't see how you could use that as an argument..

I can't wait to see Benoit in action.

Montreal needs a star. He has potential (way more than bums like d'Agostini).

He happens to score against this year's worst starting goaltender, alongside the best offensive talent on his team and he's gonna show us something?

Puh-lease.

Not to mention O'Byrne will clean him out.

Or maybe they just gave a 4th overall pick for him so they're doing all they can to try and make him productive.

It's like if the Habs start Pouliot on the 1st or 2nd line. It's not that he's earned the right to be on that line or that he deserves to be there. It's that they want to maximize their return.

And if we want to play the "on pace" game, how many goals and points is Lats on pace for scoring if you look at the last 7 games? What about the past 25?
