Whats up with this obsession of putting newly drafted prospects so high on the list? Schroeder really isn't having a strong season at all currently and I really do believe that Shirokov and Sauve are going to crack this roster before Schroeder does.

1. Calvin DeHaan, D
2. Travis Hamonic, D
3. Kirill Petrov, RW
4. Mikko Koskinen, G
5. Rhett Rakhshani, RW

(I realize they are playing full time NHL minutes now, but really.. tavares and okposo are our #1 and #2 prospects and are still very young and developing.)

Kings have a sick prospect group.

Man are you guys ever going to be dangerous in a couple years (even more than you are now).

4.Teubert
5.Voynov.

7. Lewis
8. Zatkoff

Jeez, I don't even agree with the way I've placed them. The Kings just have so much talent coming up. Although I think the top five are pretty solid (maybe switch somebody for Voynov, I just really like him.)
Did you forget about Hickey and Loiktionov or just pass over them? Here's a go at it.

1. Jonathan Bernier G
2. Tomas Hickey D
3. Brandon Kozun W
4. Brayden Schenn C
5. Andrei Loiktionov C
6. Colton Teubert D
7. Vyacheslav Voynov D
8. Trevor Lewis W
9. Jeff Zatkoff G
10. Martin Jones G

Jones(Calgary Hitmen WHL) and Zatkoff(Manchester Monarchs AHL) are interchangeable but I think that Zatkoff can be better than Bernier and Quick but only if he gets a chance. Abe it makes me feel good seeing all of our prospect depth even when we are still a young team. You know it's good when Voynov, who should be in the NHL, is your number 7 prospect.

Edit:Moller would be at 6 if he's a prospect still.

I think those pretty much are the five but I could see it in almost any order. Mine would probably be:

1. Grachev
2. McDonagh
3. Stepan
4. Sangs
5. Kreider

HMs: Werek, Bourque, Heikkinen, Sauer

Islanders Top-10

1. Hamonic (D)
2. de Haan (D)
3. Petrov (F)
4. Ness (D)
5. Poulin (G)
6. Ullstrom (F)
7. Koskinen (G, would be #3 if he weren't injured)
8. Nillson (G)
9. Donovan (D)
10. Rakhshani (F)

Notes:

- Lots of talent on D ready to join the organization next two years (Hamonic, de Haan, Ness, Kessel, Niemi). Considering the likelihood BPA during 2010 draft is a D-man, depth is likely to increase. Surplus of offensive D-men in the system (de Haan, Ness, Katic, Donovan).
- Only impact forward we have rights to is a total question mark in terms of signability (Petrov). We have a bevy of mediocre, smallish, NCAA forward prospects (Rakhshani, Gregoire, Toews, Trivino).
- Koskinen's injury really hurt the Isles short-term plans in net. That said, there's a decent stable of prospects in net (Nillson, Poulin, Ridderwall).

Cheers,

Dan-o

5. Jaff Frazee

6. Vladamir Zharkov
7. Matt Halischuk
8. Adam Henrique

The only thing i would change is dropping Frazee down around 7 or 8 and moving Zharkov and Halischuk up

1. Nikita Filatov
2. Cody Hodgson
3. Jacob Markstrom
4. Colin Wilson
5. Alex Pietrangelo
6. James van Riemsdyk - Graduated
7. Erik Karlsson - Graduated
8. Claude Giroux - Graduated
9. Tyler Myers - Graduated
10. Max Pacioretty - Graduated
11. Tuukka Rask - Graduated
12. Simeon Varlamov - Graduated
13. Luca Sbisa

15. P.K. Subban
16. Zach Boychuk

This of course, is assuming those players are still in the NHL at time of printing.

I don't think so, Hodgson hasn't played and Filatov had a poor WJC.

Pietrangelo will likely be number 1, with Eberle, Markstrom, Wilson and Subban in the Top 5.

I think Stepan and Kristo might break into top 10 as well.

well the top 5 looks decent enough (Kadri, Stalberg, Bozak, Hanson, Gunnarsson)...i haven't seen Gunn play but by his stats he was impressive no? he's injured im aware...and Kadri is a beast, kid has heart

yes those 1st rounders shipped will hurt...but TO is a hockey market and they have money and a guy like Burke will go after big names during this year's FA, he is aware that he needs to compensate.

he's not a bad GM...he was successful in Anaheim, it's just really tough to clean up a mess a previous GM leaves behind

1. Hodgson
2. Schneider
3. Grabner
4. Schroeder
5. Shirokov

6. Rodin
7. Sauve
8. Connauton
9. Oberg
10. Anthony

Rodin could probably move up and either of Shirokov or Schroeder down, and three d-men could move a bit too but don't see any of them in the top 5.

I'll take a wild guess and assume Pietrangelo, Eberle, OEL, Markstrom and Subban are locks for the top 10. Filatov and Schenn have to be up there as well.

And for anyone doubting Subban, he's having a fantastic rookie season in Hamilton and he's among the league leaders in +/-. Not bad for a guy with "defensive problems."

Definately think he has moved up the ladder, but i wouldn't call him a lock for the top 10...

Really looking forward to this issue soon...

Well, maybe not an absolute lock..but there's a pretty good chance he's in the top 10, IMO.

He was 15th last year, and his stock continues to rise.

41gp-9g-18a-27p..and he's currently a +22. One of the top rookies in the AHL this season.
