GM Game #3 by CD, BigG, and IR4

Commishioners:
Classic Devil
BigG44
IslesRock4

Basic Rundown:
-There will be 30 GMs, 1 for each team. There will be 1 agent for Eastern conference RFA’s, and 1 for Western Conference RFA’s. We ask that you do not sign up if you do not plan on being at least somewhat active.

-The time that this game hypothetically takes place in is the trade deadline of the 2009-2010 season. After the deadline has “passed”, we will vote on playoff seeding, as well as the winners of each playoff round until we get a Stanley Cup winner. After the Stanley Cup voting, we will have an off-season, complete with Free Agency, the draft, and more trades.

-Before the 2010 UFA starts, we will need 4 volunteers to be agents for UFA’s. This is an important and fun part of the game if anyone is interested in playing, but not willing to forfeit much of their valuable time.

Salary Cap:
-The salary cap for the trade deadline until the end of the playoff voting is going to be $56.8M

-We will be using capgeek.com to find our players pro-rated cap hits.

******EXTREMELY IMPORTANT******
We will be using pro-rated cap hits for this game. There are many different ways to do this, but this is the easiest way:

1) Find the player's Daily Cap Hit on CapGeek.
2) Multiply said players daily salary by 40 (The # of days remaining in the season at the trade deadline)
3) Subtract this # from the player's total cap hit and allow this # to continue to count against your cap total
4) For any player you are acquiring, use this same method (Daily cap Hit*40) and this is the pro-rated cap hit of your new player.

This will make the game more realistic and add a new dimension to these types of games.

-It could get complicated for some, so PM a commishioner if you have any questions or if you need the caculations to be made for you.
-The commishioners will be responsible for double-checking everyone’s numbers for this.
-The salary cap for the 2010-2011 season will be $57.8M.

Waivers/Buyouts:
-There will be a separate thread to keep track of waivers and/or buyouts.
-Only 1 veteran per team will be able to be sent to the minors due to cap reasons and only 1 buyout will be allowed per team.
-The lowest team in the standings in real life gets highest waiver wire priority.

Trades:
-All trades must be sent to IslesRock4 and Classic Devil or else they are not valid.
-Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread.
-If a trade is announced prior to it being sent in, it will be vetoed.
-ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. Washington will not trade Ovechkin, Pittsburgh will not trade Crosby, etc. The commishioners hold the power to veto any ridiculous trades.
-A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be approved by BOTH trade managers prior to posting. Keep in mind it will only be on a rare occasion that a NTC or NMC is waived.
-If there are any qualms about the trade, the trade will be sent to the trade committee where it will be voted on.

Alexander Semin will be dealt in the off-season.

Looking to swap him for a high-end defenseman or center (or one with high end potential). But would also consider any kind of package deal, just make an offer and I'll make sure to get back to you with what I think is fair.

are looking to trade Alexander Frolov, a winger would need to be in return.

A prospect defenseman by the last name of Voynov is on the block aswell. Anyone not named those two are not on the block.

ANZE KOPITAR, DREW DOUGHTY, JONATHAN QUICK, BRAYDEN SCHENN, THOMAS HICKEY, DUSTIN BROWN, WAYNE SIMMONDS, RYAN SMYTH ARE NEVER GOING TO BE ON THE BLOCK

Anyone else, I will listen to trade offers for, big names including Teubert, Stoll, Jack Johnson, Justin Williams

Looking for younger players, under 30

ISLANDERS Trade Block

ISLANDERS TRADE BLOCK
Martin Biron- looking for a solid return as he is a capable starting goalie or an elite back-up with a terrific contract
Bruno Gervais- not looking for too much but still an ok return. He is a young defenseman that showed glimpses of greatness last year and if he is on a solid team paired with a good d partner he could possibly reach his potential
Brendan Witt- Looking for a decent return. He is a gritty, defensive dman that will play his hardest every shift. He will provide a veteren presence thats sure to help any teams blue line.
Robin Figren- not looking for much back. He is a youngster that has lots of potential but seems to be having trouble with Bridgeport so maybe a change of scenary will do him good.
Rob Schremp - not looking for much at all. He has loads of offensive potential but we have a lot of forwards over him on the depth chart so we are looking to move him.
Nate Thompson - again not looking for much. He is a great role player and is a good PKer
Jon Sim- same as above not looking for much. He is a great agitator and has shown this year he can be effective in his role.
Freddy Meyer - solid number 6-7 defensemen that being said looking for really anything.
Dustin Kohn- looking for a decent/ok return, he is a good young defensemen that still has lots of potential

Heading into the Deadline: Looking to get younger, gain youth/draft picks and shed some veteran talent. Eric Staal may be on the trading block for the right price.

The Washington Capitals are looking to aquire a legitimate top-four defeseman for a playoff run.

Preferably we would be looking for a rental that isn't overly expensive, but would be willing to take on guys with years on their contract if the fit is right. For salary reasons any deal would have to have Erskine or Pothier (preferably Erskine) going as a salary dump. If you're giving up a valuable defenceman we could add prospects like Neuvrith, Osala and Perreault and Eakin along with draft picks (although the 1st would be tough to get).

Looking for upgrades, but we want to keep our depth. However, we will look to send out a ton of cap space after the playoffs. If anyone is interested in Campbell or Huet in particular pm me. I think both have some value, but if that is not true, we will look to other members of the team. Sharp, Bolland, Hossa, Kane, Keith, Seabrook, and Toews will not be traded.

The Senators are trying to move the likes of Chris Kelly, Jonathan Cheechoo, Filip Kuba and Alexandre Picard. We are also taking offers for Alexei Kovalev and Anton Volchenkov. High 2010 draft picks could also be dealt if the deal makes sense.

Ottawa would like to try and acquire a top-4 defenseman (preferably an offensive, puck-moving defenseman), and a top-6 forward (preferably a right winger). We are also looking to acquire more 2010 draft picks.

We will not respond to PM's about the availability of: Jason Spezza, Milan Michalek, Daniel Alfredsson, Chris Phillips, Erik Karlsson and Jared Cowen. Patrick Wiercioch should be on this list, but we will make him available only if we can use him as part of a package to acquire a top-pairing defenseman.

Needs: a #1 Centre. Period. Anyone not named Schenn or Kessel can be moved to get this. We could also use at least 1 top6 scorer, preferably a wing.

All UFAs are very much on the block, and other players can be discussed to get cheaper and younger (although it's not really a 'fire sale'...more like a 'boxing day sale'..) Picks, pick upgrades (ex. a pick + player X for a higher pick) prospects, young NHLers with upside will do in addition to the top 2 needs

Kaberle will NOT be moved unless a #1 Centre is coming back somehow.

The Leafs would like to remind everyone that players acquired at the deadline have a PRO-RATED cap hit. So teams in need of say, goaltending for example, could acquire Vesa Toskala and it would only require about 850k fo cap space (4,000,000 x [40/193])

Just sayin
