I didn't check your math, but you could always put Lee in the AHL if you needed to save that $250,000+. IIRC, he does not have to clear waivers, and Ottawa has him in the minors right now I believe.

Toronto off to bed in a few mins (gotta go christmas shopping tomorrow haha)

Interesting starts to trade talks. We are close to a deal with an East team that would deal one of our better UFAs. And a couple other players are being discussed with a number of teams.

Remember, some will go dirt-cheap. For example, a 2nd will get you Mayers, Frogren, or Toskala + a 3rd (and for Tosk we could even take a similar expiring contract back)

The math checks out to ~$200K under the cap if you keep Lee up. He is still eligible to be sent down but is 8 NHL games away from 80, at which point he has to clear waivers to be sent down.

So since I just waived Shelley who has a 3,756 a day thats equals 150,240 over 40 days so together 350,240 in cap space.

Looking to sell this deadline, Hamrlik, Kostitsyns, Laraque, Gill, Halak on the block. Well actually everybody is available, those are just the ones more likely to be traded.

i confirm the Avalanche and Florida trade

Florida gets:
Stoa
Svatos
1st(Av's)
2nd(Av's)

Avalanche gets:
Campbell
Frolik

Although disappointed to see Frolik leave. Very excited about Svatos, hoping all Marek needed was a change of scenery and the departure of Campbell opens up rooms for the young guns to get some ice time.

BLUES ACQUIRE BUTLER FROM SABRES

The St. Louis Blues have acquire defensmen Chris Butler from the Buffalo Sabres today.

In the trade, the Blues send prospects Cade Fairchild and Aaron Palushaj.

The Blues are very pleased with acquiring Butler with hopes his game will improve even more as he returns to his home town team.

BLUES ACQUIRE HALAK FROM THE HABS

The St. Louis Blues have acquire goaltender Jaroslav Halak from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a 2nd round pick in 2010 and Simon Hjalmarsson.

With this trade, Chris Mason is available for trade, and will likely come cheap.

Players available in Minnesota

Nolan - A tough physical third line foward on a good team, or a decent top 6 guy on an average team. He would be a great pick up for a team looking to add some grit and skill for a cup run

Sykora - A guy who has the ability to score the big goal in big games. He has proven over his career that he is capable of putting up points and would be a great pickup for a team in need of more scoring down the stretch

Bouchard - A quick talented centermen. Is easily a 2nd line center on almost any team in the league. Tonnes of skill and is a proven scorer

Miettinen - A talented guy who is starting to figure out the N/A style of play. has been playing very well as of late

Ebbett - I can't seem to clear waivers. A late pick or project prospect will do for this guy but he can add some decent depth to a playoff team

Harding - Is ready to become a NHL starter. He has shown over the past few seasons he is ready to take on a bigger role on a NHL team. A team who is looking for a new starting goalie for this year or even a guy to lean on come playoff time, he is your guy

Johnsson - Still a good puck moving defensmen on the last year of his deal. Could be a good pickup for a playoff team in need of a powerplay quaterback.

Schultz - A solid top 4 defensmen with still a lot of potential. A gritty player but has some puck handling skills as well

Sheppard, Boogard, Brodziak, Latendress

Maybe: - These guys still have value to my team so will not undersell

Kobasew - A guy who can come into a playoff team and provide a third line checking presence which is always needed come playoff time. He also has the ability to score some goals as he is a former 20 goal man.

Brunette - This guy should be coveted by all teams who are contending. He is a has a rare mix of grit and skill. Can be a great pick up for a team looking to go a long way in the playoffs as he is very versitile, and is a fabulous penality killer

Hey guys, does any know a link where we can find out what draft picks our team has for the upcoming draft?

Also what are we supposed to go by when resigning RFA's? I know there is some formula to figure out how much you need to qualify them. Any help would be great as i want to make sure i have them right not to waste the agents time

Cheers

The Wild confirm. We have a lot of bottom 6 wingers in our system so felt we could spare Latendress. We would have rather shipped someone else out but could not turn down a 2nd round pick plus a solid Prospect such as Wrenn.

Wrenn will continue to add to the depth of defensive prospect we have and the 2nd round pick will be used to likely add more depth to our foward prospects

Find your 2010 draft picks here: http://www.prosportstransactions.com...rades/2010.htm

Qualifying Offer
Players who earned less than $660,000 in the previous season must be offered 110 percent of last season's salary.
Players making up to $1 million must be offered 105 percent.
Players making over $1 million must be offered 100 percent.

Example: James Sheppard

James has a $1.4 million cap hit, but his salary is only $850,000. The minimum contract you can offer him is a two-way deal for $892,500. However, some players will not sign for their qualifying offer, and in some cases, they'll take less money to sign a one-way contract. That is up to the agent and you.

Buffalo Confirms this trade. Hard to see Chris Butler go in the trade but getting a good puck moving prospect was something Buffalo needed. Also Aaron Palushaj is a goal scoring Right Winger which Buffalo Lacks. Expect both these guys in the line up which in the next year or two.
