WE are also pleased to announce a blockbuster trade with the Los Angeles Kings.

To EDM: Alex Frolov, Jarret Stoll and Jack Johnson

TO LAK: Robert Nilson, Dennis Grebeshkov and Andrew Cogliano

With the addition of a true sniper Alex Frolov we seak to reach playoff hopes and use him as a replacement for Ales Hemsky. We feel Jack Johnson will be a key addition to our team and will be a great addition for our long term plans. Jarret Stoll is also a solid player and will help our top 6. We feel that Andrew Cogliano was no longer in our plans and we decided to ship him out, we previously tried to in the heatley deal and he wasn't very happy in Edmonton. Nilson never worked out for us here and we feel a change of scenery will help him grow as an NHL regular. We wish the three the best in Los Angeles. Enjoy the weather.
I like this trade for both teams. Curious to see how Edmonton's cap will fit this in next season (or even now) with the addition of Harding at 1.1M, and taking on more cap in this trade in Stoll, Frolov and Johnson.

Trade vetoed as it was posted before it was sent in.

Anyone but Nilsson could be switched around for it to pass through.

Oh man brain fart on my part, for posting before I sent in. I was personal messaging a GM and he was telling me to sign RFAs and then I already signed them so i forgot to post. And as I was creating my post to display my RFA signings, I remembered a trade me and tourettesguy came up with and I posted it stupidly on my part before approval and I thought it'd be more of a rumour than a completed trade but I clearly worded everything wrong. This is the first GM game I have participated in where this is not allowed and I totally forgot. I would like to apologize to Tourettesguy for completely abolishing our trade. This means I am not allowed to try and aquire the three players I wanted?

No, you can try again, you just have to re-arrange the deal a little bit.

Not necessarily, what we've done in previous games is that you must take out a player who is a key piece of the trade (as interpreted by the commishs).

In this case I'd say everyone but Nilsson is a key piece, so one will have to be taken out and subbed for someone else.

I still don't quite understand what your trying to tell me. So if I take out Grebeshkov and add in Gilbert instead, would the trade work? It would be Cogs, gilbert, Nilson for johnson, frolov, and Stoll. Not saying any one has agreed on this yet, just saying. I am sort of a rookie at this type of GM game. I have played in many others just different formats. And I made a mistake but I don't think the whole trade should be abolished over something small like this. Don't you think?

Me and Tourettesguy actually have agreed to take out Grebeshkov and to put Gilbert in the deal. Is this ok??

Yes, that would work, but announcing it on the open boards before you send it to the commishes will just get it disallowed again.

Don't have to convince me, just two of the three commishes.

In the off-season, I agree. But at the deadline? Kings are in contention and I wouldn't see them or any playoff-bound team moving three key pieces. That's messing with a lot of chemistry.

The Washington Capitals have a re-signing to announce!

The club has come to terms with upcoming UFA David Steckel, terms of the deal are as follows: 3 years, $3 million, $1 million/year. The deal also contains a NMC for the first 2 years and a limited NTC in the last year of the deal.

The Caps are extremely excited to have this guy locked up for the forseeable future, and expect him to play a big part of bringing a Stanley Cup to the team.

Impatient. Kings fans would crucify you for this deal in March, would hail you in the off-season since no chance Frolov will sign with Edmonton. This is, however, HF fantasy.

Calgary is open to all offers

Only untouchables are Iginla, Boumeester and Kiprusoff. Unless I get a ridiculously amazing offer on one.
