I wouldn't say Gomez is totally clueless

Although I haven't changed my mind about Gomez and his obscene contract, one thing I have to give him is that he has taken Sergei under his wing and is helping him. I see him encouraging and talking to him all the time.

BOTH SK & D'ags should not play on a second line right now.

But, we have nothing else...

Pessimism is a must amongst Habs fans though.

We need to put all the flaws under the microscope and throw out all the good traits out the window. That's the Montreal way, especially on these boards.

Exciting finish, ugly win.

Hamrlik, pouliot, and gionta are on the verge of coming back but I think these problems that the habs are having run much deeper than just getting healthy again.

Halak was sensational, and the special teams are working well. This has been the successful recipe this season but you can only rely on this formula so many times.

Does anyone see any hope for improvement? There's lots of room for improvement but the problems seem to remain constant.

Of course, bring the French-English debate again ! We haven't had one for a week, it's a record.

YES. I'm sure! I'm sure that Halak was amazing tonight and against NYI. I'm also sure that Halak has 2 wins in those games, despite the fact both teams massively outshot the Habs (90-51).

I'm also sure that we didn't deserve to win this game but did because Halak stopped the shots he was supposed to stop, and made some spectacular saves. He also battled to make saves with tons of traffic in front of him all night. Also, Pleks, PP and PK were amazing as usual.

I'm also sure that Halak does not deserve to lose the net to Price. He's hot. He's winning. We need wins. It's his net to lose.

I'm really sick of this blind love/hate thing with Price & Halak.

The only positive I saw was that we scored 4 goals.

Pouliot will have a great chance to succeed, I would bet my left nut he will play alongside Gomez & Gionta.

Irregardless of what ANY person has to say about Gomez, him and Gionta produce together. Always have and likely always will. Pouliot will have a chance to come in and make a name for himself. I hear he has a good shot, good speed and he's got a good frame to build off of.

He *should* fit our system better then Latendresse did, and certainly much much better then D'Agostini is. This guy is waiver bound, trust me.

Halak stopping 47 of 50 shots is not impressive?

Yeah, you can see all those evil Habs fans clamoring for Bob Gainey to acquire their saviour Jason Smith.

now pleks is gonna cost 5 mill MINIMUM

but **** do i love the guy, 1 goal 3 assists tonight
Based on what he did for us (or didn't do) before this year, you think it made sense to sign the guy long term? You think Pleks actually passes on a chance at UFA to sign that deal?

Seems to be that Pleks knows he is playing for the big deal next year
