Dean McAmmond

Has he been a steal or what? He is now on a 4 game point strek, 6 points in that time. In total he has 8 points in 16 games and is a +9. I believe he has only been on for 2 goals against all season and he averages 14:13 TOI/game.

Was any free agent signing this surprising?

Discuss.

I still can't believe we picked this guy up off the scrap heap. No team wanted him. Our minor league team signed him to a deal, part of the way into the season.

He was called up because of injury, and was expected to play on the fourth line. But now, he doesn't look out of place on our top line.

Interchangeable Parts indeed.

McAmmond and Rob Niedermayer were meant to be Devils, they should of been here years ago.

I always remembered him being good for Ottawa. He seemed to fly below the radar for awhile and I didn't hear much about him until we signed him. Thank God we did.

I was definitely a doubter when I heard Lou signed him, he's proved me wrong. Hence why in Lou I trust

I to this day am pissed that we didn't just say "**** it, okay" when Anaheim asked for Gomez for Rob Nieds.

One of the greatest steals ever. He's playing terrific and makes virtually nothing! I'd love to see him on the team next season.

I don't miss John Madden at all with Dean McAmmond!

At the time it would of been stupid, in hindsight it looks like the better move.

Dean "The Machine" McAmmond is the kind of player you win Cups with. If you have a role player that can play big minutes produce in the playoffs it gives you a huge advantage.

He reminds me of Brylin before Brent Sutter happened.

Truth. McAmmond and Niedermayer are precisely the type of grinders we need to make deep playoff run. And when Zubrus and Clarkson come back, our bottom six will be even better than it already is, which I didn't think was possible.

If we make a long playoff run this year, the McAmmond acquistion will be akin to the Marshall acquistion in 2003.

The Dean once threw a punch that the Danis caught in mid-air. The resulting events are collectively known as the Big Bang Theory
