D John Scott was a healthy scratch. He has not played since Dec. 19 at Ottawa. "He doesn't have to do anything different," coach Todd Richards said. "He has to be better."

MEDICAL WATCH:

LW Derek Boogaard missed the game with an undisclosed injury suffered Dec. 23 against Edmonton. Coach Todd Richards said it was a "maintenance decision" and that Boogaard is not seriously injured.

RW Chuck Kobasew suffered a knee injury in the third period Saturday when he collided with Blues C Keith Tkachuk. The severity of the injury is not yet known.

D Brent Burns has suffered his second concussion in 2009 and missed his 17th straight game Saturday.

RW Petr Sykora missed his 22nd straight game with a concussion. He has been skating with teammates, meaning his return could be soon.

C Pierre-Marc Bouchard has not played since opening night, Oct. 3 in Columbus. He has been shut down with a concussion.

Los Angeles Kings lines and info:

GOALTENDERS: Jonathan Quick, Erik Ersberg.

DEFENSEMEN: Drew Doughty, Rob Scuderi, Sean O'Donnell, Jack Johnson, Matt Greene, Davis Drewiske.

PLAYER NOTES:

LW Ryan Smyth returned to the lineup after missing 15 games with an undisclosed upper-body injury. Smyth returned to his regular first-line role with C Anze Kopitar and RW Justin Williams at least at the start of the game and played 20 minutes, 17 seconds, recording two shots on goal and a minus-1 rating.

RW Wayne Simmonds returned to the lineup after missing four games with a knee injury. Simmonds had an arthroscopic procedure, on Dec. 14, to repair his meniscus, but was out less than two weeks. Simmonds played 14 minutes, 27 seconds, and got promoted to the first line after RW Justin Williams left the game in the first period.

RW Justin Williams suffered a broken right leg early in the first period, on his second shift of the game. Williams went to play the puck behind the net and got tangled with center Anze Kopitar and Phoenix defenseman Ed Jovanovski. Williams could not get up from the ice and had to be taken away on a stretcher.

RW Brandon Segal returned to the lineup after missing nine games with a knee sprain.

MEDICAL WATCH:

RW Justin Williams suffered a broken leg in the first period. No timetable for his return has been set.

D Randy Jones missed a second consecutive game with a sore neck and headaches and is considered day to day.

C Jarret Stoll missed a third consecutive game with a groin injury and is considered day to day.

C Andrei Loktionov missed a 13th consecutive game and was placed on injured reserve last week with a dislocated shoulder. He is expected to be out of action until at least March.

Hope no one minds I did this, I'm feeling lonely.

Damn, oh well.

I love this quote,

Quote:
'You don't need to be talking to my son like that. Get somebody in here with a better attitude.'
So true, damn naysayers.
