Still some insight (or at least clarifications) in the interview....

his play hasn't fallen off, he is on like a 7-8 game point streak... please with the defense. He's always floated around the blue line his whole career.

maybe for most of his career but when he was named captain last year and for about the first 20 games this year he actually tried, even if he isn't that great defensively it was the fact that he was trying that meant something. now he isn't trying so much and some of our other defensively un-gifted players are following suit. kovy is a lead by example captain and right now that example isn't a good one.

he's also been going back to trying to do everything by himself in the offensive zone. even if he is getting points he's also giving them with all the turnovers

i'm thinking something along the lines of they want 10 years 10 million per season and waddell wants 10 years front loaded to reduce the cap hit.

everything in the interview points to waddell wanting a lower cap hit to ensure bogosian, kane, pavelec, enstrom and little are re-signed when their respective deals are over. waddell doesn't want to become the next team to be forced to lose a supporting player to keep the three stars

You ever stop to think it's because of the horrible lines he's been on all year? Yea like Chris Thorburn is going to make plays for him, what a joke.... JA has ruined his play too with these bad line changes. He changes lines every 2 games.

He was fine with Antro and Afinogenov, forwards that actually have good hands and can make plays.

i'm sick of the line changes too. he's back with antro and maxy now so maybe he'll play a more sound game now. we'll see with time.

i'm also sick of peverley getting paired off with anyone. he's with kozzy and little now and that line seems to be doing well. now as long as little doesn't get benched in favor of jim freakin slater again i might forgive anderson

Waddell had better move him before the deadline or they will lose him
for nothing ala Boumester. No way he resigns in atlanta why would anyone want to play in front of nobody?

It means they don't want to pay him 10 per when he's 37 years old.

I heard a rumor someone spraypainted siihb on his ride. Not sure what the heck that means, but these negotiations are a drag man

.
He played with Thorburn for two periods because Little was out with an injury. Did you ever think it might be because they were familiar with each other? Sadly Thorburn has spent time on Ilya's line in previous years... And if you are sick of the line changes Anderson does, you must not have been watching back when Hartley was our coach.

"Our position is different than his position right now," Waddell explained to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Their position is fixed years with money and we have a different side of that."

So...uh, you dont want to pay him money for a given amount of years?
