For Buffalo, more likely that Lydman is the trade bait. Like Tallinder, he's also UFA this summer. Tallinder has been playing extremely well this season. I find it very unlikely that a 1st place team would look to break up their best pairing (Tallinder-Myers).

You are missing Edmonton. You could put the entire roster as trade bait!

Max Talbot?
There reasoning doesnt seem right.

Traded to clear cap space?
Hes not making enough to clear significant cap space.
Yes we have to resign Letang and Gonch but I dont see Talbots 1 million being too much of a help.
I suppose trading him would give us 1 million to help in resigning Cooke.
And I suppooooose that if Max is gonna be stuck in a bottom six role then Caputi, Tangradi, Jeffrey, Letestu would be cheaper there.
It doesnt seem to fit though, Talbot is very versatile, he plays every forward position on any line.
Fedex and Guerin seem real unlikely to be back that leaves holes that need cheap fill-ins.

If Krajicek was on Waivers and wasnt picked up what kind of deal could be done?

Edmonton is part of eastern Canada. The west starts at BC.

No way Paul Martin is getting traded from the Devils. Spector must be on crack.

Only reason I see Washington moving Eric Fehr is if they are targeting a top 2 defenseman. A deal for such a player would like require a 1st, a current roster player and 1/2 prospects.

More likely candidates to be moved ...

Shamo
Gordon
Pothier
Jurcina

Pothier won't be moved unless the return is a better Pothier; he's to important to their puck-movement game (and GMGM loves him some puck-movement from the D).

ShaMo, Gordon likely have no value, although they'd be candidates to move no doubt (throw-ins to fill a roster spot perhaps). Jurcina is playing well enough to make his value not-nothing, but maybe not enough to move unless the team is upgrading.

Fehr, or less likely Flash, would make sense as the NHL piece to a big(ish) deal, because the value is there and the chance of keeping the forward corps intact next season is slim. So, as you say, a big time D deal would be one of those types, although I don't know if I'd limit it to only that type of deal.

"Trade bait" is probably generous, but at the same time he might be the most likely roster forward to be sent out in any deal.

Good Q. Thing is the player he is now isn't the same player that worked with Ohlund on the PP for the Canucks. We broke him.

I don't know if I'd say he "worked" - in his two full seasons in Vancouver he put up 5 powerplay points each year despite averaging over two minutes a game with the man advantage.

Martin on this list is laughable at best, a sign of writer incompetence at worst.

Talbot doesn't seem feasible right now, but by deadline day it may be quite different...

He is still under the umbrella of "recovery" from his surgery, but that won't last too much longer as is evidenced by Disco Dan's healthy scratching him last week...

Talbot wouldn't be the centerpiece of any deal, but as an "add-in" with a pick and/or prospect, he could be a nice sweetener in order to gain a top 6 guy who actually scores consistently

Pens fans will throw a fit...Max was already a fan favorite, but his game 7 performance turned him into a Pittsburgh folk hero...His popularity in the room also would factor against a move, but being a nice guy and making funny commercials shouldn't be what holds Ray Shero back from dealing him if the time is right...

As a wise man once said, Chemistry doesn't score goals, (insert scoring winger here) scores goals....

The same type of deal that happened when Jokinen was put on waivers twice and no one claimed him and then he was traded. Sometimes a team needs to send something back to bring someone in. The problem is Lawton has been on record as saying he doesnt want a "different" salary dump coming back for LK so who knows if anything is there. At this point Im sure he would take a lost cause prospect or a 7th round pick.

I understand COMPLETELY where your coming from but look how well our defense has done with out him. I understand with getting Martin back we have someone who can smooth out the play up the neutral zone and solid defense but no one expected Greene to play this well, the same with Fraser and the rest of our young defense. He isn't promised to return next season, it's his move after this season and I'm sure he will receive quite a few 'sexy' offers besides Lou's. As much as I don't want to lose him either with the same being said of Gionta and Madden, it's always a possibility he won't be wearing a Devils jersey. I think he's seriously interested in playing for his hometown Wild but that's just speculation.
