World Juniors: Exhibition, Finland vs. Canada TSN (7 PM Mountain)

World Juniors Exhibition game on TSN right now.

Rajala (#11) and Hartikainen (#35) are both playing for Team Finland.

Eberle (#14) is playing for Canada again.

Canada has 'waived' the roster limit and permitted FIN to skate with 25 guys tonight?!

Is this normal routine on pre-tournament games?

I think Canada gets a little bit nastier each year in this tournament.

Or have we always been mean?

To a degree, the edge and feistyness they play with is acceptable IMO.

But overall, I'm really not a fan of the "brolic", dirty and violent style these young Canadians are taught to play.

Cormier is laughable with that elbow (again) he threw at the Finnish player. That is not playing with edge, that is simply dirty and disgraceful. I love our country and am always hoping they win Gold, but some of the stuff they're pulling is shameful and embarrassing.

Young guys in Canada in many cases are encouraged to play like that. This is precisely why they won't win gold at the Olympics, putting too much emphasis on physical, nasty play - overpowering and bullying opponents.

These guys need to be challenged to impose themselves in the right moments.

Tonight....they are not doing that. I give you that.

Based on the last 2 games, these Canadians don't deserve to win gold. Kadri is doing nothing but running around looking to kill somebody and taking stupid penalties, Cormier deserves to be suspended with his dirty play. If these guys keep playing the same way, I hope they don't even win a medal. It's disgraceful and embarrassing to see players representing our country doing stupid **** like that. I was hoping all game that Cormier would get a crosscheck to the teeth and be out for the tournament.

They just want to help ensure that there are enough guys to shake hands with at the end of the game...

I'm going to close this up because we have the WJC mega thread/GDTs already.
