And yeah...I've noticed it and also noticed how nobody has even mentioned it. He's approaching "Steckelville" of late (in the offensive end). He was on a killer pace early in the year and was bound to fall off, but 1 in 15 is quite the span...

Yeah.. not worried about him. He is not paid so much that he has to score consistently to pull his weight, in addition to the other stuff he brings.

On a tangential note, didn't care much for the Laich-Mo-Knuble line. No spark, no offensive focal point.. Hopefully that's not something that we will see again.

Do you have a source on that? I'm not doubting you, I'm just genuinely curious, especially since I was such a big opponent of the trade at the time (huge Bondra fan).

He provides a welcome counterpoint to txpd. They should live together. Or star in a sitcom.

as was i.

the man is a really solid 2 way guy that works hard and plays team 1st hockey.

as far as i am concerned, his lack of scoring just keeps his pricetag down, and 3 cheers for it.

Remember that Semin may not be around for long after this year and Laich will take over a more offensive role when that happens.

I love Laich, but here's hoping Semin's offensive role doesn't fall to Laich. He is not going to be that kind of player.

I think Flash will be the one to take over for Semin if/when he's gone.

Laich has cooled off after a hot start, he'll end up with around 20-25 goals which is still excellent for him.

This thread is a waste. Laich is one of our best forwards period. He is not expected to get 30-50-80 to make us happy. He does what he is told and he does it pretty damn well for $2M/yr guy.

Mothra is right on. I remember GMGM projecting Laich as just what he's becoming: a rock on the 3rd line with the ability to chip in offensively from to time.

I dont....its probably in print somewhere but what I recall was an interview on TV. His comments were worthy of note at the time because he was basically saying that Laich wasnt a high scoring prospect (considering he just traded the franchise leader in that)....but that he will "be an NHL player" who will be able to "spot in on the 2nd line and PP" but would be more a 3rd line player who will chip in offensively. He also mentioned that he could play wing or center and commented on his versatility
