After seeing the Czechs play, I think they might pull this one out.

Go Czechs!
Strenght for Czechs should be in the net, both goaltenders are playing in O2 Extraliga(highest Czech hockey league). Especially Jakub Sedlacek, leads the league with 2.12 GAA and 93.25 % SV and 21 wins.
Should be a good one.
May the best Czech win

Swedish goalie, Jakob Markström plays in SEL, 27 games, 92,4. He's pretty good too. But I'm really looking forward to see our first line in action, one of the best lines in the tournament.

Really looking forward to this one!
The Czechs are always tricky to play so hopefully this will be a really good game.

The first goal will be crucial, if not deciding.

All the swedes seem awefully cocky in the interviews.. which is why I'm putting my money on the Czechs. 4-2 Czech Rep.

There's difference between being cocky and selfconfident.

There is, but its typically swedish to think self confidence is wrong.

Yep. Saying anything but "we will try to win" is a scandal

If you don't think you can win, you won't. It starts mentally.

Yes, sadly.

Any given sport.

North American - "I'm going to win"

Swede - "I'm gonna try my hardest, and see how far it takes me".

This game will air on the NHL Network at 6:30pm.

I'm cheering for Sweden as I really like Josefson, Tedenby, and Markstrom. I'm also interested in seeing how Rundblad and Erixon play. I just noticed that the two Devils prospects are both on the first line. Hopefully they start developing some chemistry.

The Czechs has Michal Jordan hah, can't forget that name from the draft.

Pretty much the whole Swedish team are already drafted. The Czechs has like 5 or 6.

Were's Czech and Slovakian hockey going? I hope it's just temporary. The Swedes weren't that deep on talents 5-6 years ago either.

You will never hear Canada say they will beat a team because they have more talent.
Peter Forsberg and Pave Bure made that mistake and it cost their respective teams.
Canada has the right attitude, respect the other team but do not fear them.

Czech hockey is going nowhere, atleast for next 10 or 15 years.
After communism ended, there was no "transfer plan" and strategy what so ever. Talented kids from poor families are not able to play hockey simply because they can't afford it.
Maybe it's turning around now, but in next 15 years, Czech hockey will be nowhere teams which won 1998 Olympics or stacked 2005 WCH during the lockout.
