One player to watch out for for Austria is Konstantin Komarek. He's a 17 year old that has top end skill, hits and is very gritty. I had fun watching him in one pretournament game.

With all respect, aynthing less than 10 goals by Russia will be good for Austria.

Injured, and he believes the coach Vladimir Plyuschev oach wouldn't have taken him anyways.

Tarasenko with a nice 1 on 1 move, puck through the D's legs.

4-1

Anyone know why Blues prospect Andronov didn't make the team? Was he even close? I know nothing about Russian hockey.

He's 89 born and thus inelegible for the team.

The commentator

I feel jealous of anyone who doesn't understand Russian at this time and therefore can listen to the game without having to listen to this creature.

As far as the actual game goes - started off pretty slow but the boys seemed to pick it up a little as the period ended so hoping for a dominating performance in the 2nd.

EDIT: I'm talking about the atdhe.net stream

My short take during the intermission. Our guys have almost no clue about how to play on the small ice. Noticeable during a couple of passes by Khokhryakov and others in the own zone. But I'm sure they'll understand quickly. Our PP needs someone to get close to the net IMHO. Against Austria it might work, but against top teams our guys will have less chances to do classy moves like Tarasenko and Kuznetsov did. Our top line plays great, but 1) Filatov missed 3 goals and 2) Burmistrov needs to share more the puck...
