(Scott) Stevens wasn't dirty.

Right. I'm not talking about his hits (which many soft-hearted souls on hfboards have now decided ARE dirty). He played with an edge, snuck in his fair share of subtle elbows and was an absolute monster in front of the net. If you think that any player with that kind of an intimidating presence isn't inflicting pain on his opponents (a la Pronger) every single shift, you're delusional. He didn't care if he hurt people: that's what he was on the ice to do. People on here don't seem to understand that this is often part of what hockey is.

Its hockey, playing dirty is part of the game. Without any doubt.

When the ref's see it -- a penalty shall be given. Thats also part of the game.

A bit OT but it was just reported during the game that the first thing the swedish tool guys had to do today when they showed up at the rink today was to fetch doors for the swedish locker-room.

Canadian rep's had removed the doors for the Swedish lockerroom.

It was said during the boadcast by Chris Härenstam.

I can confirm it was mentioned during the broadcast by both Chris Härenstam and Niklas Wikegård.
They said that TV's, couches etc were removed from the home team locker room. The highest ranked team gets the home team locker room, which is more comfortable, more space, a bit more "luxury".

I don't know if it's true or not though.

Seriosly?

and then

some more.

It was a good laugh and no one but you would probably cry about it. I found it hilarious and I bet most do.

Agreed.

It was for laughs, and I don't mind it all that much. Its Canada and hockey -- part of the game.

But it should stop there, I don't like the behind close doors selection of ref's and suspensions and sheit like that.

I loved it. Showing that we will do whatever it takes to win including messing with the Swedes heads. No retaliation shows they are scared.

Mental game advantage Canada

Him running to the bench after doing it shows that he's a clown.

You don't know my post history very well then. If it happened to us I would not complain about Swedens actions for one second. I would expect retaliation from Canada.

If he would have gotten suspended for that then they might as well change the tournaments name to the World Junior Ballerina Championships. Come on folks it wasn't bad at all. The Swedish kid was barely even hurt. I'm sure if he would have been hurt more severely the IIHF would have looked at it a lot closer.

Considering Cormier did the same thing to a Finnish player in the second exhibition game, I do think he should have been suspended. He is a dirty player and the fact that he is wearing the 'C' is an embarrassment to Canadian hockey.

HOWEVER, those exhibition games were not full IIHF events. Look at the logos on the on-ice officials' jerseys. I saw IIHF logos on the two officials chosen for the tournament, but the other guys were wearing Hockey Canada, Saskatchewan Hockey Association or Hockey Alberta logos. Hockey Canada and its affiliates had more to do with these games than the IIHF did. Cormier was never going to be suspended because the IIHF couldn't give a rats ass about the exhibition games. Players aren't even registered for IIHF events until the day before, if I'm not mistaken.

Yet JJ gets tossed for something not nearly as bad. Canada should have been on the PK for 5 minutes like USA was yesterday for a clean hit by Zucker.

I personally don't believe the story about Canada stripping the Swedish locker room.

You'd have to figure SOMEONE in Canada would have reported such a thing, even if they knew if would anger Hockey Canada.

And how come other nations like Russia and USA haven't reported this? I'm guessing their locker rooms would be stripped as well. I can understand the language barrier with Russia and Sweden, but USA would probably make a huge deal out of his if it was true.
