Did anyone notice that I picked Trevor Kidd :lol . Anyways my favorite goaly is Marty Turco but I would have to say that Martin Brodeur is still the best right now.

Best goalie today would have to be Ed Belfour.

Brodeur?

He was brutal in the series against the Flyers.

Because Brodeur has three stanley cups everyone feel obligated to call him the best in the game today. You seem to be missing the today part. Today I'd say its probobly Eddie Belfour. And if you went by stats it is clearly Roloson.

How so? Wouldn't Kiprusoff clearly lead if it was judged only by stats?

What I'm wondering is how Trevor Kidd made it on this poll while David Aebischer was left out...?

I'm sorry guys but Martin Brodeur had a poor playoff and a so-so season. I know he had a couple of shoot out but he have a good team in front of him. IMO the best goalie in the NHL is Roberto Luongo by a mile.

If I had to put a Goalie in for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals:

1. Brodeur
2. Belfour
3. Cujo
4. Roloson

Luongo has never won a playoff game. He wasn't even a longshot for GAA. He made a record number of saves by being able to play a lot of games for a team that gave up the most shots, falsly inflating his save %. He wears the biggest pads possible and relies on them intensly.

I know you can argue this by pointing out some other goalies on the list but...

Giguere and Aebischer are obviously not the best and Trevor Kidd was a joke seeing that he is the worst.

Aye! The oft un-spoken about Evgeny Nabokov. He has a great season and was nothing short of excellent in the 1st round. He's my pick for the best goalie this year.

I'd still rather have Brodeur on my team before any of the others. Hard to argue that too.

Gotta agree with this...I will never vote for a goalie that uses oversized equipment

ie) Snow, Luongo, Giguere,

Brodeur if a healthy Devils D comes with him.
Otherwise, it's a crap shoot between a few guys.
