Good picks but I think Duncan Keith should be there in place of Stephane Robidas.

Robidas deserves to make Team Canada.
Phaneuf, not so much.

Jordan Staal has been good killing penalties, but I wouldnt take him over Doan who brings grit, skill and can kill penalties too

Toews would not be on my team because he has regressed this year, but instead Ryan Smyth, who has as many points in 10 less games and is back from injury

Fisher-Toews-Iginla
Stampkos

Pronger-Weber
Niedermayer-Boyle
Robidas-Green
Phaneuf

Brodeur
Luongo
Fluery
I'd leave off:
J. Staal
Fisher
Phaneuf
Green

and replace them with:
Seabrook
Keith
Smyth
E. Staal

Throw one Stamkos into the lineup and make one of Staal or Smyth 13th forward, make Robidas 7th Dman

Kinda (pleasantly, as a Stars fan) surprised to see B. Richards and Robidas there. However, I personally wouldn't put either on the team. A case can certainly be made for them but Robidas' style of play really doesn't suit this tournament, and I believe that Richards is on the outside looking in for the Centre position.

Have you even watched Toews this year? Since coming back from injury he has been excellent. He is also a future leader for team Canada, versatile, good defensively and one of the best faceoff men in the league. There is no way he is not on this team.

I do not want the following on Team Canada:
Robidas
Smyth
Fisher
J. Staal (Depends on the other 12 forwards)

I know Duncan Keith is the sexy pick, but Stephane Robidas has played very well. I don't think it's as big of a shocker as some.

Would you elaborate? I haven't watched enough Dallas games this year.

J.Staal is a joke

Lucic - Crosby - Iginla would be much better #1 line than that one with Nash. Grinder - Playmaker - Sniper is the best line combo.
I agree, why would you want to put the best overall player and arguably the best playmaker in the world with a power forward who has won a Rocket Richard trophy and is in the prime of his career, when you can put him with a slow 4th line grinder with average/below-average skills, yet can check and fight with the best of them? Makes no sense to me.

There is absolutely no reason to pick Robidas over Keith. None.

That is an absolutely horrible team he chose. I'm glad Yzerman is picking and not Cherry. Only redeeming thing Cherry has on his team is Green.

Robidas is a great defenseman, and an underrated one at that, but Canada is ridiculously deep on the back-end. Its no shame for Robidas that he isn't a top 7-10 Dman for Canada.

Being born somewhere =/= being from somewhere.

Last time I checked, Heatley wasn't a German last name either.

If we want to get that ridiculous, then Canada could ice a true Canadian team of who? Jordin Tootoo, Chris Simon, and Jonathan Cheechoo? And the U.S. has who? Scott Gomez with a little Native American in him?

But hey, a gold medal game of Team France vs. Team Briton would be pretty sweet to watch.

I dont see why Jordan Staal is such a bad choice. hes one of the best PKer/shutdown centers canada have. You cant just roll 4 lines of offensive starpower, you will have to shutdown other teams starplayers and kill some penalties as well.

Players like Fisher, Morrow, Mike Richards, and Bergeron can fill that role while providing more offense than Staal.
