Will this be the game of the year for you SO FAR...from when the season started in Oct? (NHL games included)..

Seriously...this is going to be HUGE...i'm already counting it down..winner gets a bye in the first round...USA the underdogs, but it still should be a MUCH better game then last year!

For me, EASILY the game i've looked forward most toward this year already.

It's exciting any year it's happened so far. It's always a fun game and intense.

I hope the US play a lot better than they've been playing though.

Not a chance in my mind. Last year's game was incredible, had a bit of everything.

Definitely looking forward to this one though.

It was a good game until the 3rd when the US was completely flat and tired from playing the night before....the tables a turned this year which will hopefully help the US out a bit being outmatched in skill..

I understand this will be quite a big game, but there is no way this can be considered as the biggest game of the year in the world since the month of October.

Last year's game was one for the ages.

It had more passion and hatred than any previous CAN-USA game.

Prediction: 4-2 CAN

Yeah I can't wait for the New Year's Eve game. Both teams SHOULD go 3-0 prior to this match and if they do it'll be a battle. Last year showed us just what John Tavares can do when he wants to win. And there was pure hate between both teams I loved it!

Lets hope the officiating is good that game. In the Canada-Latvia game, not like it mattered, but there was typical awful European refereeing a couple of times. You know how it is, a loud bodycheck is often a penalty.

I don't know, as there have been many NHL games that caught my excitement more than this upcoming match between the USA and Canada but perhaps that can be explained by the fact I'm not a fan of either team.

Montreal vs Boston on December 4th, 2009 (Montreal's 100th anniversary ceremony) is just one of many examples of a game with higher importance, importance, media coverage, and enthusiasm than USA vs CAN.

The other games on the 31st will be huge as well;

You'll have Switzerland versus Slovakia to see gets into the medal round.

You'll also have Russia and the Czech's which, depending on today, could be the game to see gets into the medal round.

You'll have the Canada/USA game, which will likely determine seed #1 and #2.

You'll have the Sweden/Finland game, which could determine seed #1 and #2 depending on today.
