Minimalist GDT. Can't stop now. Respect the streak.

7:00pm start at Verizon Center. Glorious CSN-HD (local). NHL Network (USA).

Caught the second half last night, but Mass Effect 2 is worthy. So I may be checking box scores only.

Greatest GDT Ever. More again.

For the Lulz!

To quote one Muhammad Ali, the Ducks "go down in the second round" (second day of back-to-backs)! The streak continues!

to quote the text messages from the telescreen during warmups: I support the Washington Capitals and hope they win this sporting event.

This schedule is ridiculous. Can't be helped, but this could morph into a situation that really tests an organization's depth.

On the plus side, I kind of like the 23-minute Mike Green, and by that I mean I like it a lot.

Another day, another neck to step on.

6-3 Caps.

What a time to be alive.

Eh, everyone's going through the same thing with the schedules.

Watched a little of the Duck game last night in between the bloodletting of the Islanders. Wasn't impressed, they're a lousy road team. Unless the Caps show up completely uninterested, it should be a nice win. 5-2 Caps. More wings.

I have to admit, I had completely overlooked the fact that Anaheim is also playing its second in as many nights. That's awesome.

I predict a win, but a real victory would be if we can somehow convince Niedermayer to agree to be traded to the Caps. ::drool::

They should give him the old pirate treatment...knock him on the head after the game and stuff him in a closet in the basement. When he wakes up show him the signed contract, etc and get him in a red uniform.

**And do the same to TFS and make sure he wakes up on the plane back to Anaheim or wherever they're going next.

Sloan over Alzner.

Oh we cant possible risk losing him and his fing contract on waivers.

If I see that picture the laptop goes out the window.

Bruce's boys > George's boys goes on.

What pic RH?

TXPD - I saw a post of yours on the main board stating that Theo could be out until the Olympics, wild speculation or is that being reported somewhere?

It's likely not even that. Waivers is a 2 day process, and they don't have a roster spot if they can't put Theo on IR yet (they may be hoping he can come back quickly, who knows).

Even if they decided to waive Sloan as soon as they figured out that they needed to replace Theo they would have had to do this for today.

Now, of course, there's the issue of why they didn't get rid of Sloan earlier (although getting rid of your only healthy "D" scratch isn't GMGM's style). And no doubt they'll disappoint us all by doing nothing even when they do have the roster space. But for now this isn't a surprise at all and you can't likely blame Bruce, not for today.

Of course if Theo's already on IR (if they know it's bad already) then it becomes madness again.

Couldnt we have just left Pothier "on the shelf" IR whatever it was for another day? I still think we could have demoted Sloan without a claim. But I think its obvious George doesnt think so... or Bruce doesnt want him to. I know you dont send your extra down, but I think I have a bigger issue with why he is our extra. Send Laing down, doesnt he need some work? Or is he highly coveted as well? I dont follow transactions, are teams actively snagging others waivers this year?

I feel bad for Alzner. I am sure he understands but at the same time, I bet its taking a toll on him mentally. If we are depending on him for our stretch run, he should be here.

I would call it standard fair for any goaltender non-surgical muscle situation. Its par for the course. Theodore left the game. Boudreau didn't say it was a precaution and he was alright. A goaltender was called up before the game was over.

A mild groin strain takes two weeks for a goalie to get back into the lineup. Thats where we are.

Olie would tweak his groin once a year and miss two weeks to three. Johnny tweaked his groin and missed a month. Varly tweaked his groing and missed a month until he hurt his knee.

Lastly, Theo is playing for his career right now. Varly is out and he has played well enough to get #1 work load. For him to come out of a game with an injury and then miss the next game, its nothing minor. He wants to play every game he can right now.
