Thrilled all 3 guys made it!

Anyone know where there is a TV schedule? I know games begin Dec 26.
Will there be a WJC thread or are we just dumping it in the prospect thread?

Can't wait to see Kreider in action. Anyone know if we decided to let Grachev go?

Grachev was not released to play.

Shame for Russia. They lost two of their best offensive forwards (Loktionov and Grachev), and one of their better d-men (Voinov).

I don't know about that, but he has looked very good so far in the evaluation process. All three of the Ranger players on the U.S. roster will be counted on to score.

Not to mention their #1 Kulikov.

Filatov is missing pretty much his entire line.

I'm interested to see what happens when Kreider goes back to BC, if he does well in the scoring department in the WJC's.

Does his coach give him more responsibility and rely on him to score more?

Great news, happy for all three of them...And I totally ecxpect all three of them to make the Rangers roster in time.

Also, maybe as impressive is that the NHL Netork is now going to air the games again.

Bourque, Kreider and Stepan Named to US Team

This morning, Ryan Bourque, Chris Kreider, and Derek Stepan were named to the USA U-20 team that will play in the World Junior Championships that begin this weekend in Saskatoon and Regina. The final roster was announced by USA Hockey this morning, after the US team dropped a 3-2 exhibition game to the Czech Republic last [...]

He had 4 goals in 16 games and now 3 goals in 2 games in the pre-tournament games. Hopefully he has found his scoring touch and bring this back to BC.

For once I can be unabashedly for the American team instead of thinking something like, "I really want the US to score, but not against Lundqvist."

If all 3 of them make it, at worst we'll be like the Debbies on the mid90s: Interchangeable parts at forward with great goaltending and excellent blueliners. Let us pray.

If you mean Hartford Wolfpack, no. The only Pack eligible player was Grachev, but the Rangers did not give permission for him to play.

Kreider, Stepan and Bourque are from Boston College, Wisconsin and Quebec of the QMJHL, respectively.

Oh yeah. Can't believe I forgot him.

Hopefully the US team can take advantage of their speed. I think if they skate hard enough they'll be able to take advantage of Canada's lack of discipline.

the thing is with all 3 of these guys one things stands out. speed.

they all have great wheels.

kreider has good size and breakaway speed
bourque is plain fast and shifty
stepan is quick and creative

im really looking forward to seeing how they do in international competition.

after being very down on the bourque pick on draft day, im warming to the thought of having a speedy smurf playing for the rangers in the near future. his skills seem to be legit irregardless if hes a midget.

this kid could be fun to watch.

I am extremely excited to watch these 3 players, as well as the whole tournament for the next week and a half. Good Luck USA, Kreider, Stepan and Bourque.
