All the pressure is on the Bruins tonight. They weren't supposed to be in a game 7 after having 2-0 and 3-1 leads. The success of this season comes down to 1 game. The Habs don't have the pressure the Bruins do. They were a 7th place team that should have wilted away with the adversity they have faced in this series. Raycroft has to turn this series back around.
As a Pen's fan who honestly is fairly indifferent to both teams, neither rooting usually or hating either team, I find myself pulling for the bruins, not because of the national anthem thing, though that was pure idiocy, but mostly because of all the diving issues surrounding the Canadians . . . even if only perception, if the Habs come out of this series it will be percieved as rewarding such actions and I am not at all comfortable with that message being sent . . . so though it may be for some odd reasons, you have a fan tonight in the burgh who will be watching and rooting for you . . .
I can't take this. This is the biggest game of my career as a Bruins fan. I don't even remember a game 7 in my life. This is gonna be one of the most nervewracking games I've ever sat through. Definately the most nervewracking hockey game though.
Most important Bruin game this year and probably the most important game since i became a Bruin(8yrs..Hey i'm only 16). Im gettin pumped and i'm goin to be in my newfie home on my newfie couch watchin my newfie TV hopin for the victory. 3-1 Bruins; Thornton nets 1G,1A, Bergeron gets one along with McGillis. Ryder scoring for the Habs. That would be So Sweet!
CBC just reported that Joe has torn cartilage around the rib area. They mentioned that this is the type of injury that usually keeps players out for a while.
Treatment options
Unlike bones of the arms and legs, broken ribs can't be set in a cast. Treatment aims to relieve pain while the injury heals, which can take up to six weeks (in the case of fracture) and 12 weeks or more if the rib has been torn from the cartilage. Options include:
Rest
Prescription strength pain-killing drugs
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
Avoiding activities that aggravate the injury, such as sport
Icepacks may help to reduce inflammation in the early stages
Mechanical ventilation (help with breathing) may be needed in cases of severe flail chest.
If this is the case then WOW. All of us should just shut-up and be in awe of our Captain. No Heart eh?What!~!!!
Ref's let go a pretty obvious penalty by McGillis which is fine, but I suspect that will bite us in the ass later. No telling when they'll decide to call one of those just to try to send the message that even under game 7 conditions, they need to play clean hockey.
