Chris Clark and Milan Jurcina from Washington to Columbus for Jason Chimera

Wondering if this could be a deal in the works:

Via Lori Schimdt's Twitter feed
"For what it's worth, a friend just told me the Blue Jackets had a scout at tonight's Toronto Maple Leafs/Washington Capitals game." 11:33 PM Dec 12th from web

From the Washington Post
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...121403117.html

Not sure what exactly the Caps are looking for, scoring or defense but there might be something in the works here.

MODS EDIT: Jackets looking at deal with Capitals, another unidentified team

SECOND MODS EDIT: http://twitter.com/TSNBobmckenzie

Caps want defense so why in the world would they want anything we have?

Cause they can obviously handle talented Russians and we cant and we'd probably be stupid enough to do it

what does this have to do with them wanting defense? Filatov doesn't bring that.

If they are dumb enough to want it, give it to them.

Who says we were looking at the Caps? Perhaps the Leafs have someone we want.

We definitely need more truculence. Or Kaberle.

That's what I was thinking, we could be scouting the Leafs and not the Caps at all.

I simply noticed that very soon after we had a scout at their game they were talking about freeing up cap space for a move. I am not saying anything other than the timing looks interesting. For all I know the Leafs had a player we were targeting, I really do not know, hence the speculation tag

I highly doubt theyre here for a defensman, they see a possible bargain because it seems our coach cant coach talented Russians and they can. This wouldnt be a trade on need, but taking something that we cant work with and having 3 of the top Russian kids in the NHL with Semin, Ovechkin and Filatov....ohh my! Assuming it was for the Caps as the thread mentions

Caps are tired of dealing with their guy who keeps getting in trouble with the league.

Ovechkin for Methot and we'll throw in a 3rd just to keep them happy.

Is he a slow skater? Is he a horrible passer?? and does he turn over the puck alot??
If the answer is "yes" to those questions then we have ourselves a "Hitch" player.

Only if the pucks coming back have Ovechkin's signature on them.

You can have Fedor Tyutin for nothing, just expect him to turnover the puck everytime he touches it.

To WSH: Theo Ruth
To CBJ: Something related to Sergei Fedorov, even though he's not with them anymore.

Do it in reverse, SH!

Marc Methot, if you want centering passes that lead to goals against, or other frequent suckage.

Yep, we've had a scout at other Leafs games as well.

I've not been pleased with Methot lately, I don't know if he's trying to do to much, playing a notch or two above his abilty or just in a slump.. He needs to get better soon or I could see him being traded-soon.
