reffing was pathetic but so was the offense. i watched the last 30 minutes and outside sergei hitting the post we generated nothing. i really hate martin's style.
Watch the whole game next time before complaining. Martin had nothing to do with them not scoring, it was all the players missing chances.
I agree, but they deserve a chunk of blame tonight. HOW many times did we see a Sen haul down one of the boys and get away with it? Whereas we get called for practically breathing on a Sen, and making him flop to the ice like a ****ing pancake in the process.
No arguments from me CP. It's just a shame that we missed so many chances. That we allowed the refs to become a factor.
Unlucky game for the Habs, could easily have scored five. Excellent last 10 minutes by the Sens. Bergeron remained us why he really is a fringe player in the NHL.
One seldom see a team go without taking a penalty in a tight game. Sens clearly respected our power play and played a disciplined game. With a little help from the refs and some luck it paid off for them. Upside for the Habs is that they will get a lot of chances 5-on-5 when their opponents are that concerned about penalties, and most nights the luck and ref will not be this lopsided.
Not saying no WS but on the GWG he looked really affraid and let Fisher come out with the puck like if he was playing against pee wees.At least tie him up along the boards or something
He didn't look good on the play to say the least. But for some posters to say how he "finally" sucks, how he's afraid of being hit and so on have either a selective memory or just want to forget the good plays he made lately. Clearly his worst defensive game in a long time. Key word here is "long time".
Why is it every game against Ottawa are so boring, frustrating and completely lack any excitement. I hate playing against this team. Usually a good first period and then back to whistles, useless dump ins and puck flopping all over. No flow whatsoever and very bad effort from our team.
In a game we shoulda won after the first, the Habs managed to stop putting in the efforts and hoping to reach overtime, as usual. Please please guys, quit blaming the refs, this is getting retarded.
can anyone explain to me how with 3 minutes left we have our worst line on the ice? we have 3 very good lines with 3 minutes theres absloutly no way you should see the useless line on . and does anyone ever remamber a game a team did not get atleast 1 powerplay?
Can't blame the refs (even though they sucked, no PP..), Fraser voided a good goal for the sens in our favor.
Anyway, Spacek and Bergeron sucked.
The team was flying in the 1st...and that was it. Leclaire was good and the habs team missed too many scoring opportunities. (GOMEZ 2 on 0 and a ****** move)
Not trying to troll here, but...the Sens have been on the receiving end of night after night of non-calls all year. Now, I don't wish that my Habs fan cousins, but I feel your pain!
So, the Senators played a perfect game? I don't care if we lose fairly, but even if we sucked for the majority of the game, there is absolutely no way the Senators (or any NHL team) can play a flawless game as far as penalties go. No way.
The 4th line was okay, but overplayed. The 3rd line was atrocious. Gomez started strong and ended poorly. Gionta was buzzing, but you could tell he'd missed a lot of time. Cammalleri started strong and died off. Kostitsyn was medicore outside of the first period. Plekanec was okay. Pouliot was incredible.
Markov was great. Spacek was a big pile of meh. O'Byrne was bad. Bergeron was worse. Gill was nearly as bad as the last two. Gorges was pretty decent.
Halak was decent. The first two goals were deflections, but the last one looked a little weak.
JM receives a big fat Z-rating. Terrible coaching system.

For sure he has played well latelly and even tonight wasn't playing bad until that goal, all I ask from him is to be a little more physical or at least pin his man to the boards,we know he can score and has a great shot but when we are stuck in our zone just wished he was a little more intense, anyways we will sweep the Florida trip!
i think 5 points separate 14th from 6th. it's the little things.
first off i cannot wait to get hammer back because that means one of either o'byrne is in the box or mab goes to the 4th line.
that 3rd goal was ALL on him. that was an embarrassing pee wee play.
no compete, pussied out of the contact and let his man score the goal.
and of course martin has him on the ice again.
that was the game.
he wins one in Atlanta and loses this one.
of course no pp's is brutal considering we are 34% on the road.
those were the factors. no pp and MAB with a pathetic display of dewy softness

Ottawa tends to play well against us.
Like Toronto, they consider us rivals.
But Montreal considers its main rival to be Boston due to playoff history between our two teams, so its the Boston games that Montreal puts a bit of added effort into.
We need to start treating Ottawa and Toronto like hated rivals too, though... because that's how they treat us.
