Giant tiki head for goal purposes at Verizon Center

A prominent DC attorney has made this suggestion at meetings in the past but has yet to present it formally to Ted, but I was curious what people thought, whether it be a good thing or rather ridiculous.

The suggestion -
Put a giant tiki head, similar to those found on Easter Island somewhere in the VC visible from the ice level, that upon the Caps scoring a goal, the mouth would drop open, smoke would pour out of it, all as the horn is going off.

I would hope everyone in the organization would have something more important to worry about.

Also, it would be ironic to use a symbol of Easter Island as that civilization went extinct due to horrible resource management. Not the best emblem for the Caps.

Ted should buy a cold war era Russian tank and fire that badboy everytime a Russkie scores.

easy there...

what does this idea have to do, if anything, with the washington capitals, ice hockey, d.c., the united states of america, or any of the players?

i mean, it has to tie in somehow. doesn't it?

Is there a story behind the space guy, or did he just start showing up one day?

Seems like a stupid idea to me, but if Uncle Teddy is intriqued by it something like this with flames coming out of it would make more sense:

Russian nesting dolls

This is one of the weirdest proposals I've heard, and that includes all the ridiculous threads in the trade rumor section.

Kudos on the Lloyd in the space suit pic.

+1 on the russian tank. Maybe when Ovi scores. Have it out on the street before big games. Tours fees of ole red go to charity.

If not have one on the telescreen shooting then a nice loud boom pumped out of the sound system at random times or after goals.

I think this is a stupid idea of epic proportions....bring back the old decibel meter like they had at the Cap Center.
