Florida Road Trip

Hello Fellow Habs Fans.
Anyone else making their way down south after Christmas?
I have 5 extra tickets for the Canadiens Panthers game and am either looking to fill those seats with fellow Habs fans or trade them away for 5 tickets to the Tampa game.
Reply in the thread if you can help with either.

Go Habs Go.

Just bought mine last night! Section 101. I was thinking about driving west to Tampa on the 30th, too, but I assume it's way too far. Do you know how long a drive it is?

Advice to anyone buying tickets in FLA. Don't wast money on lower seats. Buy them in the nosebleed section and just move down after the first period (during which check to see which seats are empty since it's never a full crowd). Nobody checks the tickets so as long as you don't sit in someone's seat and cause some commotion you're in the clear. Done this a few times actually.

Would they not be close to a sell out given that it's the holidays and Montreal?

I am going to discuss this with my GF this week, perhaps drive down to save a few bucks.

My only concern is if I should take off my winter tires...? Will they get ruined in warmer weather / roads?

Yes for the tires ( not as much the wear, but they will over heat and you will get a blowout, on I95 at 70 MPH, it is not good). No it wont be sold out.

Box office. I think you can just go up and buy them at the game.

I really liked my experience when I went to a Panthers hockey game. They beat Pittsburgh 5-2.

I would like to go there again but this year I'm staying here in the cold. Too bad.

I just got tickets yesterday for the Wed game at Tampa straight from the box office of the Lightning.

It's a lot more full with Montreal in town and its a little more difficult to get away with this. Add in the holidays and such, it may be more tough.

I live in Orlando and can't go nearly as often as I'd like anymore, but last several times I went I tried inbetween periods to go say hi to a friend who sits in an opposite lower bowl area to where I usually try to sit and was stopped then. Once the period started, since the last time his wife hadn't come with him, she came down and tapped me on the shoulder. I just showed the lady my buddy's wife's ticket and stayed in the seat, but they've been tightening it up a bit in a lot of the sections.

Will hopefully be a good game.

I hate myself for not being in florida right now ...

- 25 + RDS (benoit brunet)

vs

+ 25 + 2 hab games ... Hard call...

But there's always January 26th and 27th !!!

And decided with GF to just do it - 100%.

If someone has good tickets for sell - or can point me in the right direction - PM me, plz!

Now I have to decide between Driving 27 hours in a car with gf vs flying , taking into account costs and being trapped in a car that long with someone from the opposite sex

edit - just checked online, $350 taxes in Mtl to ft.laurderdale direct fly... pretty cheap for those of you interested in going!

Take a look at JetBlue. It costs me 300$ tax included for a Burlington/Orlando and a Orlando/Burlington flight.

And I bought my tickets on eBay ... it wasn't cheap but I think 100$ for 4th row ticket is a very good price.

Tonight was the second time in four years I've been to a game in Tampa. Both one-goal wins, too.

VERY entertaining tonight. My wife and son are very pleased we decided to drive down from Orlando. Decent seats for $30US each, along the goal line but easy to see the whole ice.

Nice job on the National Anthems.

I LOVED the Go HABS Go chants!!

But above all else, I simply must shout this: Olé-Olé-Olé-Olé !!!

Thanks for the heads up , but I'd like to go both Panther and Bolts games ... and they will be playing the Panthers first, and Tampa 2nd.

So Orlando would be a long drive to the Panthers game... I should look into maybe arriving in fort Lauderdale and leaving from Orlando, with Expedia.

ps: Not to put a downer on your plans but plane tickets are 350 from MTL .. saving 50 bucks isn't worth it when you factor in gas and time.
