This period is precisely why JVR doesn't get more ice time. He cannot clear the puck out of the defensive zone. so far, he has failed three times.

Therien made a comment during a recent game that Laviolette's biggest issue with JVR is that he (JVR) doesn't recognize how much speed he has. Sounded like Laviolette thinks JVR doesn't utilize it to his capability.

The olympic break is going to be a very good thing indeed for JVR. It's not that he looks lost out there, he just isn't getting the chances. Good job for betts to get the opening goal too
