Canada Olympic Team Picked Today

Now before everyone freaks out about this not being an official GDT.. I thought it was pretty close.

I just thought it would be fun to predict your line ups prior to the 10 AM deadline and will see who was the closest.

I'm sure there are other threads out there- but would be cool to see who was the closet.

Here is my prediction (Line ups really don't matter)

Nash - Crosby -Iginla
Perry - Getzlaf - Lecavlier
Marleau- Big Joe- Heatley
Morrow - Richards - Richards
13th Fwd - Stamkos

Weber- Pronger
Nieds- Keith
Boyle- Seabrook
7th Doughty

Luongo- Brodeur
3rd- Fluery

Thoughts?

Waking up to TEAM1260 this morning at 9:45 was just awful... Nielsen and Will Fraser were both terrible... going through the Finnish roster was laughable, didn't know whether it was "Mikko" or "Mikka" Koivu... really guys? Gimme a break.

I hate when Canadians say "ice hockey". We don't have "ice hockey" in this country.

Mike Green is going to get hosed out of a spot despite one of the greatest offensive seasons from a defenceman ever last year. The idea that he'd be any kind of liability on a team like this is hilarious, and the idea that his skill is duplicated is a fallacy.

CTV is ridiculously bushleague. No surprise on the tenders, Brodeur will start.

Ditto. These are the three that should be there. MAF secured his spot last season with a cup win.

lol, they cut to analysis after the most obvious picks.

Hopefully the order they announced it is the actual order of hierarchy.

I have to agree with this but Canada is so deep at defense that eventhough he may not be there, the next guy in is just as impressive of a player.

he played ridiculous in the playoffs last year and was a massive part of why the Pens won.

So, yeah, I think he deserves it more than Luongo, but all three are fantastic choices.

If Ward didn't get injured he could have taken his spot.
