I don't care about the 4 mentioned but yes the Bergeron pick is unsettling. Guess we can hope for a replacement.

Sidney Crosby (A)
Ryan Getzlaf
Dany Heatley
Jarome Iginla (A)
Patrick Marleau
Rick Nash
Dustin Penner
Corey Perry
Brad Richards
Mike Richards
Steven Stamkos
Joe Thornton
Jonathan Toews

I think that forward crew is better.

I still don't understand the moderate obsession with Brendan Morrow. He's not near as good as he receives credit for and we'd be better to take a big guy who can play positional hockey and hit if that's what they want. I still say you trot out the stars and dare someone to score more goals than you.
he's american

Stamkos can wait until 2014, should they get to go.

Odd, didn't know he's dual. He comes up on the NHL search. Well that explains no one mentioning him.

Even though Lecavalier has been brutal.

How can he not make this team?? He has the potential to be the best player in the tournament.

Seriously now!

Wow!

O well.

Overall I like the team, but the forward selections left me a little more underwhelmed than I thought they would have.

Having said that I'll wait to pass judgement until I do some more digging.

He's already got 21 goals this year, and for Tampa.

I don't see how that gets ignored.

It gets ignored because it's in the southeast. Impressive stats but look what happened last olympics when we put 25% of our stock in three big players from the southeast. But I do agree that he should be there over Bergeron, a lot of guys probably should be.

Just like the next wave: Tavares, Neal, Stastny, Stamkos, ect.

I don't think they made a single error. My only slight concern is the PK. I wanted J. Staal or Fisher there for that sole purpose.

I suppose the PKers on this team will be Morrow, Bergeron, Marleau, Perry, Getzlaf or Iggy?

I think he has slowed down a bit after his hot start.

Also, with the sheer number of Centres out there, the brass may have felt he would have a tougher time transitioning to the wing then some other guys.

Overall I like the roster. Bergeron is the only surprise to me, but with the chemistry he had with Crosby at the World Juniors back in 05, I can see the reasoning behind taking him.

I love our defense though. Loads of puck movers, but also responsible defensemen. I was a little worried that the brass would be dazzled by Mike Green's stats in Washington, but they saw through the numbers to an average defensive player.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the team.

I'd have looked at a Mike Fisher myself instead of Bergeron as that defensive type forward, but they picked the same defense that I had on my list, and most of the forwards that I figured would be there.

Now, comes the waiting an inevitable injuries that will force us to make a couple of changes before the puck drops.

Shockers: Doughty, Bergeron.

Questionable: Morrow, Staal, Seabrook.

I was shocked with the Bergeron and Staal picks. Overall, I agree with the rest.

So you understand it with chemistry they had 5 years ago? Sounds kinda ridiculous to me.

I understand it, I don't agree with it.

That said, Patrice Bergeron is no Rob Zamuner and is a legitimate selection to the team.

Bergeron is one of Boston's best PK'ers. He is solid on the dot as well.

Lack of international experience compared to the rest of the roster would be my guess.
