That's such a badass sounding name but, translated, probably is equivalent to Smithville Tractor Company or something.

happy Carter didn't make it, though i would have loved to see him on a line with Gertzlaf and Perry. His ommission will likely make him play with a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
I hope I'm right

Congrats to Both Mike Richards and Chris Pronger.

There is no single greater honor in hockey than being chosen to represent your country in the Olympics.

That being said.

GO USA!

"Avangard" means Vanguard in russian. Jagr is playing for the same team right now, though he's on IR right now. It's also the team of late Rangers draft pick Alexei Cherepanov.

Mike Green was left off the roster despite leading NHL dmen in points last year and currently this year, as well as being a Norris candidate.

Yzerman making a statement against the new NHL, or just not wanting a defensive liability, makes you wonder!

I really hope Carter not making the team doesn't makes him as depressed as Steven's firing did, I can't take another couple weeks of him looking like ****. It is good that Richards made it, though. That Canadian roster has like half of the league's captains on it, hopefully he learns something.... oh and....

LOL at Pronger getting an A, apparently Yzerman thinks he is better suited to captain the Flyers as well.

Surprised Staal made it after the year he's had. I guess form is temporary...

I was trying to secretly watch the tv at Casey's - I was out for lunch with a client. When I saw Bergeron, Getzlaf and Perry named, I figured Richards was out for sure. When I saw him named, I couldn't fake not watching. Luckily the client is a hockey fan too!

Congrats Richards and Pronger -- go bring home that gold boys!

I love the inclusion of Doughty -- well deserved, although a bit surprising. But there were quite a few surprises with this team. Definitely a younger slant, and it should be fun to watch these guys play (except for friggen' Perry).

carter and gagne didnt really deserve to be on the team. The way bob mckenzie has it on his twitter, richards is the last guy on the team as it is.

Can't wait to see Doughty on a big stage, I've pretty much started watching the LAK because of him.

The reporters during the Q and A were all assuming that Bergeron was the last choice ?? Then Stevie Y would not say who the 13th forward was, but that they made the decision at 7:00 this morning.

I was about to type out of all of the reasons why your OPINION is retarded, but i'll just go with

Crosby > Richards in every aspect of hockey. on and off the ice.

What? Crosby is a better two way forward than Richards? Better penalty killer? Really? Do you watch hockey?

Offensively, sure, it's no contest. Leadership wise, yeah, I'll even have to agree there. But c'mon, you're exaggerating here friend. That, or you don't watch enough Flyers and Penguins.

One of my favorite lines that you and many others use on a continous basis. I post on a HOCKEY MESSAGE BOARD all day long, but no, I do not watch hockey. I just come on here to randomly give my opinions on topics I know nothing about.

Yes, I watch hockey, every team. Yes, Crosby is better than Richards at every aspect of hockey. I would rather have Crosby on the ice on any situation than Mike Richards. PP,ES,PK, last :30 seconds of a game, first :30 seconds of a game.

The other reason I mention he should is because Richards was Crosby's captain in juniors. I don't think A or C should necessarily should be scoring, but leadership and experience. Also, I kind of feel that Richards leads by example a little better by that he will fight and smash people a lot more than Crosby. I guess that is why if Richards centered Morrow it will be scary to play against haha. Just throwing in my 10 cents.

I really dont think we should get into this argument. Dont want to invite the Penguin trolls over here.

I said that because I have a dime sitting in front of me haha. But I'm sure they frown upon hitting and fighting though more in the Olympics than the normal NHL.

Richards is still the reigning Selke runner up (should have won) and still plays great defense. He is also a better hitter. You can't say all aspects of hockey, because that just is plain not true. You have to say something like, Crosby is better than Richards in 90% of all aspects of hockey.
