For the record, I wasn't really comparing him to Pavel Bure.

Yes, I've heard! Kills men by the hundreds. And if HE were here, he'd consume the Atlantic Division with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his arse.

When the parent club is this bad, what is the die hard fan to do other than fantasize about the players of the future.

In all seriousness, I do believe that kreider is showing all the signs of being a very special player. I am searching my brain for a prospect that has ever had his combination of size and speed and coming up empty--all he has to do is continue developing his skill.

Kreider now has 8 goals in his last 9 games (scoring in all but 2 of 9). Total of 10 goals for the season.

To put that in perspective, if he had maintained that pace all year, he'd currently have 23 goals (in 26 games), which would be good for 5th in the nation (2nd best goals per game), only 2 goals behind 1st place.

Also, all of his goals this year have come at even strength.

It remains to be seen if he can maintain this type of pace over a full season, but if he can, and he starts getting some PP time, well, I'll let you guys do the math

One time Chris Kreider and me went out for a drink.

He took me out to an empty lot, and I said "wheres the bar?" He said to just wait.

Well what do you know, after sometime a bar was built around us. He took a shot then burned the bar to the ground.

Over the roar of the flames he laughed and said "Always leave things the way you found'em!!"

But seriously, its great to see Kreider pick it up and show a lot of promise and play at a higher level.

Jeff Carter seems like a great comparison for Kreider. A big sniping winger with wheels.

No, no, no - are you all too young to remember Mike Gartner?

Yup. 1994 is, sadly, only a faint memory as well.

That being said, I am still a critic of York's. Kreider's ice time and responsibilty was minimal before the WJC. The WJC is what opened people's eyes. Since the WJC, Kreider's ice time has exploded and he gets significant PP time.

And the answer is no, the hot streak won't silence me as a critic. It's a hot streak.

The crtiticisms I have of York and the way he develops forwards spans two decades and is backed up by how many forwards flourished at BC but not in the NHL.

Your basing your praise of York because a friggin freshman has been hot for two months.

Boy, is that laughable.

Come back to me when Kreider is in the NHL scoring 30 goals a yeaR. I will gladly eat crow when that happens.

Anybody who saw Billy Guerin play at BC or Deadmarsh for Portland will see how Kreider is a lot like them.

The Gartner or Mogilny or Ovechkin or Bure comparison's are a little off.

Gartner wasnt a big guy. He was listed at 6-0 but anybody who ever stood next to him knows he was more like 5'10 without skates.

If Kreider makes the NHL, i see him as a 25-30 guy at best, which isnt bad at all

I'm confused. You do or you don't like the pick? Kreider is or is not a blue chiper?
