Interesting note, this will be Quick's first international tournament, everyone else on the team has played for USA in some way before.

why again are ppl so eager for their players to play? increased chance of injury (ex. frolov, demitra)...the players get worn out with the extra games....

because it is a tremendous honor for the players and the Olympic tournament is one of the most unique and thrilling events in all of hockey.

I know everyone worries about inj***s and exhaustion, but I think its a little better than usual. They aren't flying ot Turin or Nagano this year. Hell, the Kings won't even have to adjust to a new time zone. That will help and lessen the negative side effects of the Olympics I am SO EXCITED about!

Potentially stupid question here, I can't remember reading anywhere if the games will be on Olympic or NHL ice. Anyone know for sure?

co-sign. This means a lot to these guys, and i'm very happy for them. I gave a cheer for Quicker when he was selected, it's awesome to know that a guy who grew up where i grew up (Connecticut) who play for my team, and is going to play (sorta) for my country it's a pretty cool thing imo.

+ infinity!

Until the Kings get into the SCF, nothing will ever quite compare to the fun of Olympic hockey for me. I love being able to watch Kings' do well there, but regardless the quality and excitement of competition is just unmatched. Nothing quite like playing for pride and country.

I like the US team this year, and don't be totally shocked to see Quick in a game! Not with the month he's about to have

It's going to be NHL ice. I think that's lame, one of the thing I like about international tournaments is the bigger ice surface. I guess the Canadians are trying to rig it to their advantage.

The host country has the final say in that matter. It's going to help all of the NHL'ers.

Too bad, I figured it would be NHL ice, but held out hope for tradition.

As much as I like Quick and even though he's playing well there's pretty much no way he sees any game action unless the other two get injured. But the experience will still be awesome.

Agreed. The main board is all "WTF but what about Craig Anderson," even though it seems like they're clearly getting Quick the experience/potentially grooming him for the future, which will only make him a better goaltender. Works for me!

I expect both Doughty and Quick to learn great things with their respective Olympic teams and come back better players.

Quiet honestly Quick has been playing better than Anderson of late. It really shouldn't be a surprise.

I did love reading everybodies US mock roster and leaving Johnson out. Some of our guys are so underrated it isn't even amusing.
