Oilers Team of the Decade

Inspired by the "Oilers Bad Team of the Decade" thread I've decided to see who you guys think were our best players this decade.

I have put no research into this and I'm going off the top of my head so I may miss a few guys. The goalies are pretty easy since Salo and Roloson were the only two goalies we had for more than one season...

Ryan Smyth-Doug Weight-Ales Hemsky
Anson Carter-Shawn Horcoff-Bill Guerin
Dustin Penner-Mike Comrie-Fernando Pisani
Raffi Torres-Jarret Stoll-Georges Laraque

Chris Pronger-Lubomir Visnovsky
Jaroslav Spacek-Janne Niiniimaa
Sheldon Souray-Jason Smith

Dwayne Roloson
Tommy Salo

Jason Smith should be included. Also Todd Marchant.

Yikes, completely forgot about him.

Took Brewer out and put Jason in instead

I'm liking that defence. Out of curiosity, who'd you give the captaincies to? Weight - C, Smyth - A, Smith - A, methinks.

Ummmm........Arnott and Cigar haven't played for the Oilers since 1998 and 1996 respectfully. Unless I missed the sarcasm in naming them.

Again guys I did this at 1:30 in the morning (my time) and put no research into it...

But yeah you guys are right, Mike York definitely deserves to be on the list.

As for the Captain I'd probably go with Ryan Smyth with Doug Weight and Jason Smith as his assistances.

He had 22 goals and 51 points in one of his two full seasons here....he can be our 13th forward

This thread just makes me sad. The only forward on that list that could be considered a potential star player (over a PPG) is Doug Weight and his last season playing for us was 2000-2001.

Defense is a different story, but you can't win championships with just your d-men.
