Some of those equivalents are not equivalent at all. Muller was better than Koivu (sorry, guys, but he was, and he was actually a LW at the time, making him the equivalent to Zed), Desjardins and Schneider were better than Souray and Markov, Keane was better than Begin, Carbonneau light years better than Dowd, Leclair better than Dags (Dags-Dionne would have been a better fit), and Roy was WAY better than Theo. Also, comparisons like Lebeau to Ryder don't really fit. Lebeau was more similar to Ribs, and he played the same position.

Bottom line: 93 > 04

If Ribeiro is Savard, is he bound for the press box too? This goes way beyond jumping the gun. I think you may have a case for events in '93 being similar to events now, but again that's jumping the gun too...we're not even out of the first round yet!
