Leighton does not look like an NHL goaltender, he's been lucky that the past two games the Flyers have pretty much allowed a limited amount of scoring chances and shots. If Valiquette was in Leighton's shoes, he'd be doing the same thing.
Johnson will be back up soon enough. He mentioned in-between periods last game that the toughest part about playing the other night against the Flyers was that it had been awhile since he got a game in. Well, now he's going to get a chance to play some games, then probably come back up and more than likely see his first NHL start, since Torts said he'd play two or three in January.
I thought CJ looked OK against Flyers. He gave up a goal on the first shot he faced which was probably his fault abit I guess but was pretty good once he settled in. He couldnt do anything about the 2nd goal, Flyers were 5 on 3. Way to screw with kid's head. He'll probably be back in few days though lol.
Mike Leighton is an AHL caliber goalie. He got extremely lucky on a few occasions during the game today. Remember that shot from the red line that somehow beat him seven hole and dinged off the outside of the post? We're not missing anything. I mean this is the fifth organization he's been with since 2004 (counting Philly twice).
