see , there are good hockey fans who know what there talking about still around.

So does he play Monday against the NYR?

I am wondering if I should put Satan on my 5 year olds Bruins jersey and send him to school???

Now that would be funny!

I think he'll get a conditioning stint in the AHL first. I doubt he'll just be inserted into the B's lineup without getting into game shape first.

The whole point of the NMC is so that if Satan sucks, he can't be sent to the AHL in favor of someone who's better.

Good signing for the Bruins who are lacking offense this season.

Terrible signing for the Bruins given the NMC...the money is good and it's a good gamble, but if it doesn't work out they're stuck with him. I guess it's not too bad considering the price, but the roster spot could be valuable in the long run.

I think That 1 less roster spot will be just fine for the 21 games between now and the trade deadline

Wonder if Peter C tried to make a big trade and he could'nt pull it off without giving up major assets, so he's trying to catch lightning in a bottle with Satan 4 half a season.

He wasnt nearly as bad as some pens make him out to be, and frankly I wish the pens had him right now for 700k. He still put up a respectable goal total given the amount of playing time he had for pittsburgh. During the playoffs he was one of the better players on the ice.

Most of the resentment came because of his 3.5 mill dollar cap hit and the fact that his line was a total dud because frankly the whole entire team was stinking it up at that time. People were penciling him in for 30+ goals at the beginning of the season and got their panties in a wad when it didnt come true. All in all he was going to be a 20+ goal scorer if he didnt get sent to the AHL for cap reasons.

Finally, I've been waiting for input from a Pens fan.

I'd love to see Satan with Savard instead of Steve Begin. I think he has the opportunity to do well, but he has to commit to the team's system (defense first).

During the playoffs he was very defensively responsible, also I found him to be more of a playmaker than a sniper.

You have to weigh everything evenly.

More he scores in Toronto the more screwed Toronto gets and let's face it there is nobody else.

and oh btw I love Phil Kessel. I think he has been put on the street with his ankles shackled.

Bruins have gone green. Add this to your thoughts.

Nah, that's wrong. Cap hit only stays on the 2nd year or later or a multiyear deal signed by a 35+ player. Since Satan signed a 1yr deal he could have had his cap hit eliminated by burying him in the AHL if not for the NMC.

I would say this is a solid, low-risk signing, but the NMC confuses me a lot.

The season is 1/2 over and he doesn't want to sign with the Bruins for a month then be moved.

Lets be serious here, his cap hit is 350k and I don't see why the Bruins would feel the need to send him to the AHL. If he is bad, he sits as the 13th forward up in the press box.

He got sent down to the AHL last season, chances are he didnt exactly enjoy the life down there and this NMC was a key demand of his for those reasons. Do you think you get a 20 goal scorer for 700k without one? That would be a freaking steal, even still at 700k he wont be a cap burden on the team and chances are he'll be better than the 13th forward so what is there to find bad about this?

If Pittsburgh had him at that price i'd love it. He certainly would be providing more than Fedotenko at this moment.

its not like the No movement clause is a big deal, there is half a season left and the guy should be able to stick with one team. He is a UFA at the end of the yr anyway

Decent signing for the Bruins. The NMC doesn't make much sense to me. At the cap hit, it is a good gamble, as the Bruins have been struggling for offense. As someone said, he is better playing with talented players. More like Savard, rather than Begin. When he was demoted to the 4th line in Pittsburgh he was useless, not to mention his cap hit to be a 4th liner last season. I think that is why he was so under fire last season, and for the fact if he isn't scoring goals he is useless and can be frustrating to watch. But when he scores you know more are coming, as he is a streaky scorer. All in all, with that cap hit, and a to be UFA at seasons end, for half a season, its not to bad, also brings Stanley Cup experience as well.
