Ugh. I hate that he's friends with Luc. I hate that man with an unholy passion. And they have the nerve to bring him around Kings fans after the **** he produced on the ice when he was here?

Still one of my five alltime favorites, just try to put that season out of memory. I wish JR had retired after the lockout.

I think he is going to have a nice long run as a media personality.

Good luck JR!

If this is the jumping off point for Roenick's media career, I say why not. Then again I wasn't as sour as some of you here since he did well for the Flyers. He's still a colorful personality.

I think lakingsnews.com needs to write an article on this embarrassing marketing move. I am disgusted by Luc's decision and complete disregard for the lack of respect and professionalism he showed while with the Kings. This mother ****er owes the Kings millions of dollars and the fans an apology. Luc could not have ****ed this up more.

Luc has tainted his own reputation by this move. He has shown himself incompetent in this marketing capacity. A few good moves but one horrible one erases the former.

If the object of the game is to bring in former slackers who ripped off the fans and the organ-eye-zation, why don't we go for the trifecta and bring back Anson Carter and Grant Fuhr too?

Big deal. The nice thing is if you don't like it, don't read it. JR was a big reason I started watching hockey (when he was with Chicago)

Shut up. You know nothing about this subject. We could give a **** about why you started watching hockey and what Roenick did for you. We prefer not to invite cockroaches into our house. If Blackhawk fans want them, you can have them.

So, I wrote an article on the subject.

I am so disgusted by this move, I am surprised I had the words.

I owe you an apology and I am sorry. I let my anger get the better of me. I am still in shock that a forward progressing franchise would make such a backwards move. But, I do disagree with your assessment that we should just not read it. If the Kings retired Blake's jersey, should we just not look up to the rafters? The Kings' connection to its fans is synergistic. We cannot turn a blind eye to moves that show a lack of respect for the fan base by simply not "reading" it.

... It's silly to compare Rob Blake to Jeremy Roenick in their respective times in Kings' uniforms.

There are two sides to that coin.

Blake was a team leader and the face of this team until he pulled that stunt and while what he did was another black eye, you don't discount what he accomplished with the Kings. Roenick did nothing for this franchise but steal 5 million. So, one compares them by the disrespect factor - giving Roenick a place in the franchise is just as bad as retiring Blake's number although I think Blake's jersey retirement, should it ever happen, may draw more support from Kings fans than Roenick's inclusion in the organization.

Only in so far as that there are positives to look back on with Blake. The same can't be said for Roenick.

Might as well pretend that Straka or Anson Carter meant anything to the franchise.
