Probably a decent chance against this team actually, since they suck at scoring even more than we do.
That being said they're much better on the defensive end and they're also a bigger team.
3-2 Bruins

Hard to believe this team can win this game when they just struggled to get 3 points from the Canes.

3-2 Rangers with Avery finding the net?

Second game this season since returning for winter break. Hopefully it goes better than my first, the 2 to 1 loss to the Isles on the 16th.....

First of all, "tanking" has nothing to do with whether or not I'm happy with the job Glen Sather has done. Tanking is intentially rooting for my team to lose, which I will never do under any circumstances. I dont see how someone can call themselves a "true fan" and knowingly root for a loss.

Second, don't label me as pro-Glen Sather because I am not. I would like nothing more than the next guy to see him canned.

And third, nothing I do, or anyone for that matter, can influence whether or not he still has a job. The fact is he makes money, and that is all Dolan cares about. So don't start with silly comments like the one you just made.

With that said, were both Rangers fans so lets agree to disagree and hope for the best with this organization

This team is dreadful on home ice.

When is Henrik going to start sitting? He's playing every game, the man is going to be dogged in March and April, ROFL!

No one is pro-Glen Sather, but your passively supporting him by supporting the terrible product put out on the ice
However, i will agree with you to disagree and hope for the best, even if you dont want to hear that the best for this organization right now is losing

I read somewhere that he'll probably get a rest on the 7th, second of the back to back Dallas/Atlanta games.

That would be wise.

It's not a matter of that. I know the benefits of having a poor season will result in a high draft pick. I know the good prospects that are in the draft pool next year. But will Sather draft properly if we do get these picks? (History says no) Will these players actually turn out as expected? (NYR history says no) People who want to tank have to realize there is no guarentee we will be "better off" in the future as you claim.

I'm a hockey fan, and I'm a Ranger fan. I always want to see the team win, no matter what.

I don't know about you but MDZ is looking pretty good and Kreider is ripping it up in the WJC right now, looks pretty good to me. Getting into the top 5 this year would be no brainer picks, gaurenteed NHLers. Plus not making it into the playoffs hurts Dolan's money because he won't have 2 extra games to make money on overpriced tickets, concessions, ect, which equals a good chance that changes would be made

I remember last year around this time wanting the Rangers to lose in the short-term so Renney would be fired.

I believed that a change in culture was needed immediately, and I knew that they needed to hit rock bottom before the organization finally let him go.
Obviously I didn't enjoy seeing them lose, but either way it was clear that they were going downhill fast.
I thought that with a coaching change the team might be able to save the rest of the season and make the playoffs.
So yeah, I did root for losses for a little while there.

Not the same situation as tanking I know, but I don't think wanting your team to lose in the short-term is always dishonorable or wrong.

While everything you said may be true, I still can't bring myself to root for a loss. And more times than not, our 1st round draft picks have failied and we have passed on many superstars. (ie. Perry / Parise) So again, nothing is ever "guarenteed".

But anyway, Lets Go Rangers

anyone know if Lucic is going to play? He was activated off IR before the winter classic, and almost played.

With me I don't openly root for them to lose so they could get in the lottery. I just don't get upset when they lose. When your honest with yourself and you know your team sucks the loses are easier to take.
